Military Situation
- The Free Syrian Army (FSA) calls on the Syrian people to escalate the peaceful revolutionary work through staging a general strike as a first step towards an all-out civil disobedience. The FSA also called on the military personnel to join the revolution's ranks through joining the FSA's ranks.(4) - Fighters affiliated to The Free Syrian Army (FSA) were martyred due to clashes in the city of Al-Haffah and the village of al-Marij, Latakia countryside. In addition, two soldiers- who dissented from the governmental troops- were martyred in Al-Qusayr city, Homs and another defector was also martyred in Tal Refaat, Aleppo and a defector staff sergeant was also martyred in Sarmeen, Idleb.(4) - 16 elements affiliated to Al-Assad's battalions were killed due to clashes. Moreover, military equipment was targeted in Daraa, Homs, Deir ez-Zor, North Aleppo countryside and Latakia countryside.(4) - Al-Assad's battalions resume shelling Talbisah city in Homs countryside for four days in a row, in addition to AlRastan and Al-Qusayr and also the districts of Al-Khalidiya and Old Homs in Homs city; hence the number of martyrs soared to hit 26 ones, including two defectors and a press photographer.(2)(3) - An Air Defense Battalion- affiliated to Al-Assad's battalions and deployed near Al-Ghantoo village in Homs- dissented from Al-Assad's governmental forces. That battalion was exposed to shelling by helicopters after the dissension of its commander. In addition, the fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) succeeded to control the battalion's premises and seize its weapons.

Statistics June 11th Martyrs: 66

- The Free Syrian Army (FSA)'s elements shot down a helicopter affiliated to the Syrian army in Al-Haffah region, Latakia governorate. Moreover, 10 soldiers dissented from the governmental troops and joined the FSA's forces.(2)

Internal Situation

- A team of UN observers arrives in the Rif Dimashq suburb of Qatna after a girl was martyred and her brother was wounded by the Assad security's gunfire.(2) - Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said some 14,115 people were killed in Syria since the start of the uprising against President Bashar Al-Assad on March 15th, 2011. The 14,115 death toll includes 9,862 civilians, 3,470 soldiers and 783 army defectors. The death toll does not include the pro-Assad Shabiha militia, thousands in number, who were killed during the uprising.(4) - Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said that more than 3,000 people were killed since the ceasefire imposed according to the UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan's six-point plan has come to effect on last April 12th.(4)

Political Mobility
- Abdul Basit Sida, new head of the Syrian National Council (SNC), said that President Bashar Al-Assads regime was on its last legs, calling for redoubling efforts to stop the killing machine through adopting a crucial resolution under the UN Charter's Chapter VII. Sida added that the SNC would support the Free Syrian Army (FSA) with all means.

Political Stances International


-Senior Israeli leaders fiercely criticized the Assad regime. President Shimon Peres expressed his hope that the Syrian opposition will defeat the Assad forces. Deputy Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz accused Al-Assad of committing genocide. Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon said that the Netanyahu government is willing to help the Syrians, who resort to foreign assistance.(2)(3)(4) - The US Washington Post says that the Free Syrian Army (FSA) began to reorganize its corps, as it has been gaining more ground in recent weeks amid reports about the FSA's receiving more money and weapons. (2)

- Al-Assad's detachments resume bombing Daraa city. In addition, heavy gunfire was reported in cities and villages surrounding Daraa such as Inkhil, Athman, Jasim, Taybeh and Marea.(2) - Elements- affiliated to Al-Assad's security forces- kidnapped girls from Jasim town, Daraa and led them to an unknown destination.(2) - Al-Assad's security elements- accompanied by female soldiers- launched crackdown and arrest-campaign against the houses of Qaboun neighborhood in the capital. Moreover, theft cases were reported in that area.(2)

- The Syrian National Council (SNC) said that Moscows stances towards the Syrian Revolution pose a major threat to the historic friendship between the Syrian and Russian peoples.(4)
