In Case the error occurs in Delete index step or Delete index is running long for more than one

hour. Usually it should be done within 15-20 min (cross check before making Delete index to Red).

Right click and select Display Message to see how long it has run now.

See the start time and decide the run time.

To know the internal status of Delete Index check SM37 t-code.

Double click the long running delete indexstep and select job details

to know server name and Work process ID(WPID). Then run t-code SM51to list the number of server used and double click the particular server .

Double click the WPID and keep Refreshing to know whether it is running or not.

If it is running means the below Direct read or Sequential Read should get updated on every Refresh.

If no progress then selects the particular WPID and Goto Process menu and select cancel without core. A pop up message is displayed select yes.

Now the Delete index step will turn to red in Process chain. Now again right click the delete index and select -> Repeat.
