VOLUME 3 ISSUE 5

Judah John Widmer, born May 23rd at 12:12pm, weighing 7lbs 4oz and 20 inches long

In Acts 18:24-26 we hear of a young man named Apollos, full of passion and boldness in proclaiming Jesus, though he only knew of the baptism of John. What was he lacking? Aquila and Priscilla, mere tentmakers, hear him teaching and recognize that Apollos needs further teaching. So they pull him aside and mentor him, solidifying his foundation. This account is a whopping three verses! And yet in contains such a powerful and kingdom building principle, as well as is the fulfillment of the Great Commission! (Matt 28:19-20) DISCIPLESHIP! It is the great Living Act that we are called to live in our very own journeys. Both being discipled (learning) and discipling (mentoring others). Will we ACT?

Mothers Day Weekend

Mothers deserve more than a day or a weekend, but I know from their perspective usually all they want is for their families to be together. We had a special blessing of having Katie along with us for Mothers Day and we enjoyed a great weekend in the country. On Friday we went to a seafood dinner on the beach at Little Ochie and then on Sunday we had a mothers appreciation ceremony at church and enjoyed sweet fellowship.

Jersey Rae Gets a Baby Brother, Judah John!

My oldest brother John and wife Brooke welcomed to the world a sweet baby boy named Judah. It was great to get a text saying I needed to get on skype as soon as possible and even better to meet my nephew Judah. I cant wait for August to hold him in my arms but I am thankful for the technology and the ability to feel present in some form. I skyped in to the hospital when Jersey was born in November of 2010 also and treasure those memories and screen captures that I took, although one day I would love to be home in person for the birth of a niece or nephew. We are blessed!

James 4:13-15

Come now, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.
A PRAISE REPORT A healthy Momma Brooke and healthy baby boy, Judah John Widmer, the first Widmer grandson and nephew (for this generation!) A wonderful, memory-making week with Katie allowing her to experience what normal life was like here in Kingston Answered prayer regarding Tashis job and for the lessons learned through the process of waiting. The first month has already proved to be inspiring and challenging!

No captions needed, pure JOY and praises be to God!

Meet the New Guidance Counselor of Lister Mair Gilby High School for the Deaf
Tashis vision when she went to college and studied counseling and psychology was to return as a counselor in a setting where she could work with students. When this position was not available in 09, she took a position the Lord provided and learned a lot during three years of serving Parents of Deaf Children as a social worker for JADs Family Services. We believe that her experience working with parents and learning more about their position and perspective, will enable her to more effectively meet the needs of students. As testimony to that, one parent recently posted this picture (on the right) on Facebook and said Congrats are due all around. Good showing LMG! Kudos to Tashi. Her presence is surely having a positive impact. Tashi is not only responsible for handling the day to day counseling needs of students but also facilitating different activities of development for the students. She also teaches guidance classes each day, and handles general case management. Please pray for Tashi as she learns a lot and adjusts to new responsibilities. Praise God!!

Congratulations to the Optimist Communication Contest Winner Kimberly Barnes with Tashi and Principal McKenzie!
