Precautions for Data Analysis Through the GENEX Probe and GENEX Assistant
Before the analysis, obtain the test files from the related owner and check the test records to know the general details of the test. The version of the GENEX Assistant must be the latest. If you are not sure whether the version is the latest, contact the project leader. Auto combination and UE combination can be used for the data import of the GENEX Assistant. Pay attention to the differences between the two combinations. Currently, the Auto combination is recommended. The differences between the two combinations are as follows:
Auto combination 1. This combination is applicable to the case that multiple files are divided during a drive test. 2. Each UE is used for testing the same service. 3 . Time overlapping cannot occur in data. Events are judged according to signaling. Therefore, if time overlapping occurs in the data, calls overlap with each other and the events are misjudged. UE combination If time overlapping does not occur in two UEs and the time difference is greater than 10 seconds, the events of the UEs are accumulated but not re-judged. If time overlapping occurs in two UEs, the time of the latter UE is offset by one day so that the time overlapping can be avoided. If the IMSIs of two UEs are different, the events of the UEs are accumulated but not re-judged.

Precautions for Data Analysis Through the GENEX Probe and GENEX Assistant
The GENEX Assistant can perform all the chart statistical functions and analyze problems. Analysis engineers need to be familiar with the signaling process. Moreover, the GENEX Assistant can replay data. The GENEX Probe is used for foreground tests, and the GENEX Assistant is used for background analysis. By using the GENEX Probe, you can collect statistics and provide charts and reports. If you need to observe more indexes for locating a certain problem, you can use the GENEX Probe to replay data. Currently, the software version is updated frequently. Therefore, it is suggested that you start the GENEX Probe during the replay and choose Configuration > System Configuration > Others > Event Re-judge to re-judge data events. Pay more attention to the replay of earlier data.

Setting Datasets
Four binning modes:
No binning Distance binning Grid binning: groups the measurement results by grid, and selects the central part of the grid. Time binning: averages the measurement data collected within a period of time by time interval.

Three data sampling modes:

Average value: indicates the average value of the data collected from all points in an area after the currently performed binning. Max value: indicates the maximum value of the data collected from all points in an area after the currently performed binning. Min value: indicates the minimum value of the data collected from all points in an area after the currently performed binning.

Data dispersing:
Disperses the data. In the case of bus stop in a drive test, test data is concentrated on one point. The GENEX Assistant disperses the data collected during bus stop into the data collected several seconds before the bus starts off. In this way, the data can be evenly displayed on the map.

Data Binning
You need to select special data processing methods for different scenarios. Data binning can effectively reduce the affects brought by fast fading.
No Binning No binning is based on the analysis of original test data. In general, no binning applies to the synchronous analysis of events and signaling. Advantage: You can locate each event and signaling, and solve the problem. Disadvantages: You need to process a large amount of data. The original test data is distributed in a non-coherent way.

17
Huawei confidential, 2010-05

Data Binning
Distance Binning
Distance binning is usually used to analyze drive test data, and can also be used to quickly process the CW test data and analyze the network coverage. Advantages: Distance binning samples data by equidistance on the unidirectional route. Distance binning avoids congregation of sampling points. The point congregation can be caused by long time stops, for example, the car stops caused by traffic stop signals. Distance binning is of high efficiency. Disadvantage: Distance binning is not applicable to repeated routes. There are various kinds of repeated routes, for example, the route in the scenario of crossing a bridge. Example of distance binning: compares the average data before and after the distance binning which takes 5 meters as interval. The prerequisite for distance binning is that the vehicle cannot be in high speed.

5 meter

18
Huawei confidential, 2010-05

Data Binning
Grid Binning
Grid binning effectively complements the geographic binning mode by being applied to repeated routes. Advantages: Grid binning can be used to perform geographic binning on repeated routes. Grid binning avoids congregation of sampling points caused by long time stops. For example, the car stops because of traffic stop signals. Grid binning is of high efficiency. Disadvantages: Time delays occurs on the repeated routes. The size of the grid cannot be too large. Example of data binning: compares the average data before and after the grid binning which takes 5 meters * 5 meters as a grid.

Data Binning
Time Binning
Time binning requires that the vehicle runs at a stable rate and can be used to analyze special KPIs within a continuous period. Advantages: Time binning is used to analyze the data that is tested at a stable rate. Time binning samples the maximum or minimum data by using a predefined interval within a continuous period, and analyzes some special KPIs. Time binning is of high efficiency. Disadvantage: If the vehicle runs at an unstable rate during testing, the intervals of test data cannot be the same. Example of time binning: compares the average data before and after the time binning which takes 1 second as interval.

Low speed

Data Binning
Time Binning
For example, to learn the BLERs in some intervals, you need to: 1. Set Binning Param Time Span (s) to four. 2. Set Value Fetch to Min Value. The table below shows that the minimum BLER value within four seconds is greater than 5%. In this case, you can infer that problems may occur during data transmission.

The minimum BLER value within four seconds is greater than 5%.

Using Planning methods for Optimization Analysis

Evaluation of site reparenting/site being removed from service and evaluation of the impacts of emergency faults in hot spots
What the impacts on the network when a site or cell is removed from service? This seems a prediction task at the network planning stage. It, however, still needs to be evaluated at the optimization stage. The GENEX Assistant provides such an evaluation function. It can be used to predict the impacts if the cell (SC45) shown in the following figure is disabled.

Compare the predication result and the actual measurement result plus the offset.
