: ATA53_ FUSELAGE SKIN IMPACTED BY GPU BTW FR9-11 UNDER STR11RH : DIP # 127964 : Jrme CASTELLARIN Checked by : Jrme CASTELLARIN

EWIS impact : Refer to SRM Chapter 51-00-03 for instruction Further to the correspondence in reference and after investigations regarding skin perforation found on RH fuselage skin between frames 9 and 11 RH side, please find hereafter our comments. Damage description Based on received information, we understand that the following parts have been found damaged : Fuselage skin perforation P/N S53172201-214 (ref. SRM 53-11-28 fig.101 item 1A). Frame 10 lower /middle segment are cracked and distorted. The following parts will be replaced by new ones. 1) Frame 10 lower segment P/N S53172211201 (ref. SRM 53-11-40 fig.110 item 85) 2) Frame 10 middle segment P/N S53171511201 (ref. SRM 53-11-40 fig.110 item 80) 3) Splice between both frame segments is P/N S53170002-222 Based on the above, please find hereafter the present procedure which provides you with the relevant instructions to perform the involved part repair. Following instructions have to be adapted depending of job already done on this A/C. Shoring is not required providing that only frame 10 segments replacement and doubler repair are performed on this A/C and that there is no other significant repair in progress on concerned aircraft. We recommend after aircraft jacking as per standard procedure JIC 0711-00 JUP 10000, just add standard cradle positioned under fuselage fwd section at frame 13 in firm contact. Repair procedure Based on the reported information and considering that skin perforation is near lap joint area at stringer 11 RH, the repair consists to install reinforcement doubler plus splice doubler as per below instructions and repair drawing 11S531R0293. 1. Remove fasteners located in the repaired area. 2. Perform skin cut out as per repair drawing 11S531R0293. If the skin cut out doesnt permit to eliminate the damage, please provide us details prior to further action. Note: We recommend remove several fasteners on stringer 11 plus at frames 9, 10 and 11 to allow the possibility of lower skin cut out at lap joint area and then to pay attention to not damage the back structures using a kind of sacrificial metallic plate between involved parts (lateral and lower skins).

Whenever an approved design data processing is concerned, the technical content of this SRI is approved by ATR Structures Engineering Design Office. Such an approval is achieved through a different form, under the DOA privilege nr.EASA.21J.044.

3. Perform a DVI in opened holes for confirmation of absence of scratch or any other discrepancy. In case of doubt perform rototest inspection. In case of finding, please report details to ATR prior to further action. 4. Perform a dye penetrant (or eddy current) inspection as per NDTM Chapter 51-70-00 (or 51-60-00) around cut out area in order to confirm absence of crack or any other discrepancy. In case of finding, please report details to ATR prior to further action. 5. Manufacture repair parts as follows (refer to repair drawing for details): - Doubler (item1) made from Aluminum Alloy Clad 2024T3 with a thickness of 1.27mm. - Splice doubler (item 2) from Aluminum Alloy Clad 2024T3 with a thickness of 1.6 mm. - Shims (items 3 and 4) made from Aluminum Alloy Clad 2024T3 with a thickness of 1.27mm. The shims have to be separated in three parts at stringer 11 and 5 parts at frame 10 (see repair drawing for details). Note: Identify repair parts as mentioned in repair drawing 11S531R0293. For ink marking, refer to SRM chapter 51-28-02. 6. Protect repair parts and restore protection where required on existing structure with Alodine 1200 plus primer. 7. Prior doubler installation, fill original CSK fastener holes with Filleralu or Hysol EA9394 as per SRM 51-25-10. 8. Prior splice doubler installation, fill original CSK fastener holes with Filleralu or Hysol EA9394 as per SRM 51-25-10 and confirm that edge margin is not less than 9 mm for seven fasteners attaching AOA sensor (see section C-C). 9. Drill new holes in doubler, splice doubler and shims as per repair drawing 11S531R0293. Break sharp edges and deburr holes. 10. Wet install repair parts with PR1771B (or equivalent). 11. Apply bead of sealant with sealant PR1771B (or equivalent) all around doubler and finish top coat on external side as per SRM. 12. Perform fuselage pressurization test as per AMM JIC 05-53-00 TST 10000 to confirm absence of leak and oil canning phenomenon on repaired area. 13. Systems right back to the damaged area and systems on which it is required to intervene during the repair must be subject of DVI inspections plus operational/functional tests/checks after the repair being completed.

GENERAL NOTES : In case of deviation, additional finding, etc report details to ATR. Make sure that repair parts and fasteners are not interfering with surrounding structural elements. Parts and fasteners have to be wet installed with PR1771B interposition (or equivalent) (Ref. SRM 51-22-02). For pitch, edge margin, fastener install, alternatives, etc, refer to SRM 51-25-00/..40-00 and furthers. If fasteners need to be oversized, report details to ATR prior to any action, unless already defined in the current procedure. For sealant application, protections, etc, refer to SRM 51-22-02, 51-21-17/..27 (external)/..28(internal)/..29(composites)/..31 , etc. Alodine 1200, primer, and finish / top coat where required for items made from aluminium alloy ; sand blasting, primer, and finish / top coat where required for items made from titanium or stainless steel, taking into account electrical bonding requirements (ref SRM Chapter 51-22-03 , colorless alodine 1500 only at level of the antenna conductive gasket seating where electrical bonding has to be ensured, etc). For consumable materials alternatives, refer to SRM 51-35-00. For metallic materials alternatives, refer to SRM 51-31-00 and furthers. For cold cleaning/degreasing, refer to SRM 51-21-52. For filleralu (or Hysol EA9394) application, refer to SRM 51-25-10. New holes which must be drilled to fit new parts together have to be positioned in accordance with drawings or standard practice for edges margins or pitch considerations (Ref. SRM 51-2500 or take removed parts as reference). Parts and/or reworked areas have to be re-protected prior to installation (Ref. SRM 51-2117/..27/..28/..31, Alodine 1200, primer, and finish where required). For cold straightening, bending, forming, joggling refer to SRM 51-24-05/..01/. Break all the sharp edges and deburr the holes prior to protections application and parts or fasteners re-installation. For electrical bonding refer to SRM 51-22-03.
