Key Information Sporting Organization

Explanation, Public, Sport England Public organisations are run by people or teams of people who have experience in a field they choose to work in; they also are often offering their services to lots of people or other smaller organisations, they are government funded and lottery funded and are a non profit organisation who put all of their money that they do receive into the public organisation. Sport England do this, they put their money into local youth clubs and local facilities for grass roots participation. Public organisations are often associated with pretty much any sport you can think of because any sport that is played at a professional or amateur level is classed as a sport associated with the organisation. Except perhaps croquet. Sport England associates themselves with as many sports as required by the government, so all the basic sports like football, rugby, cricket, tennis, badminton, swimming etc. Organisational aims for a public organisation are to provide sporting opportunities to the public in any circumstance at any level because they are given grants for that by the government etc.} Sport Englands organisational aims are : To invest over 1 billion of National Lottery and Exchequer funding between 2012 and 2017 in organisations and projects that will: Help more people have a sporting habit for life Create more opportunities for young people to play sport Nurture and develop talent Provide the right facilities in the right places Support local authorities and unlock local funding Ensure real opportunities for communities The public sectors target groups are people aged young or old just looking either for some sporting opportunities at a competitive level or at a recreational level. Their target group would also be people that have less money than private organisations. Sport England do exactly this and help young people with facility provision and open up areas for kids and teens to play sports. The standards that would be expected would be of a medium to high quality and would expect

seating, dressing rooms, courts etc. anything youd need for a club or sporting committee , the standard you would usually get is of a inexpensive yet above average quality. Sport England is a fine example of this opening up courts with small amount of seating in some areas and opening whole sports centres in others. Portsmouth 50m pool including athletics and cycling is a prime example. N/A

Extent of Partnerships With Other Sectors

The public organisation sector I imagine has absolutely no relationship with the private sports industry but will have small associations with volunteer organisations such as they both are non profit organisations so theyd both do fundraising activities together sometimes and things like that. Sport England I could find no prime examples for.

Government Grants

Government grants would be given to a public organisation such as Sport England because they are a government run/based company. They would also be given to a volunteer organisation but never given to a private organisation.

Non Government Grants

Member Loans

A non government grant would be a case of public as well because it is based upon non profit companies so although they do sometimes get government grants they do not use them as money in pocket they always put it towards the public and the welfare of sporting facilities, private organisation would be a non government grant based organisation. Sport Englands example of this would be the money they receive form national lottery funding. Member loans wouldnt be given to public organisations because usually the members of a public organisation are there for free, where as membership loans would usually be given from members in a private organisation because they

Financial Institution Loans

Membership Subscriptions

pay for their membership. Public organisations would get loans from financial institutions also known as the bank, because thats what banks do, give money to the public in expect of return when it comes to a loan. Sport England would receive money from the Bank, not theyd need it with all the government funding Public organisations would not usually if ever have these, whereas private and volunteer organisations would.

Lottery Funding

Private Investment

Lottery funding would be given to public organisations like Sport England to help improve facilities and projects within the organisation, volunteer organisations would also receive money or funds from the national lottery leaving private organisations the only ones that wouldnt receive anything from the lottery. No private investments would be made within the public organisation because the hint is in the word private, so these private investments would only be made within private organisations.

Donations

Donations are not given to public organisations because they are a government orientated company.
