My Dear Brethren, Im having a hard time writing this, my last message from the East. I must confess that I have mixed feelings. On the one hand I am extremely happy and proud of what we have accomplished together. We have accomplished a rare feat in the Masonic world: we have created a new Council of the Allied Masonic Degrees. And its not your average Council. I truly believe that Alexandria is amongst the premier Councils in the country. We are able to meet regularly with above average attendance, good quality papers have been presented and we even got the opportunity to exemplify a degree. We are also growing in numbers and have solid finances. But what makes Alexandria unique is that we are all good Friends and Brothers. We are always concerned about each others welfare and support one another during hard times. When visitors come to an Alexandria meeting, they can immediately feel a certain energy in the room, that hard-to-define essence of group friendship rooted in something that is simultaneously ethereal yet deeply substantial. That is the Mystic Tie that we read about in our ritual. On the other hand, I am sad that I missed a couple of meetings this year due to my personal situation. As you know, I am really dedicated to the Craft and missing a meeting really gets me. I am, however, happy that Bro. Villalta did a wonderful job in my stead. Alexandria is in safe and capable hands next year under his leadership. I have no doubt that well continue to progress and reach new heights. In parting, I just want to say THANK YOU!. I am sincerely humbled by your continued support and friendship. I have accomplished many things in Masonry, but the biggest honor has been to have served as the Charter Sovereign Master of Alexandria No. 478. I can assure you that I always did my best to run the Council efficiently and making sure our young Council has a solid framework that will allow it to grow and prosper well into the future. Again, thank you, and I look forward to being an active sideliner and enjoying your company and friendship.
