Introduction

This information publication describes the procedure for enabling the Advanced Math and Logic software feature on LINAX A330 recorders. The Advanced Software Service Pack, 154443, includes the following items:

Caution. The recorder is vulnerable to electrostatic damage. Wear an anti-static strap or dismantle the unit on an anti-static workbench.

1) Disable Configuration Level security see Fig. 3.1.

the recorder and unscrew the jacking screw securing the instrument to the case

Note. The red switch is for factory use only. Ensure it remains in the position closest to the rear of the recorder.

3) Enable the Math & Logic option see Fig. 3.3.

Ensure that the Serial Number is the same as the one listed on the front of this Information Publication (see Notes 1 and 2 below)

Use the , and keys to open the 'Enter security code' keyboard

Use the , , , and keys to enter the security code from the front of this Information Publication into the data entry field

Highlight the 'OK' button and press the key to accept the Security Code and close the keyboard

Check that the 'Math and Logic Option' field reads 'Enabled' see Note 3 below

Notes. 1 If the Serial Number does not match that given on the front of this Information Publication, contact the Company. 2 If the Serial Number field is blank, enter the Serial Number given on the front of this Information Publication. 3 If the 'Maths and Logic Option' field does not read Enabled, repeat steps 1 to 5 ensuring that the Security Code is entered correctly. If the fault persists, contact the Company.

4) Exit the Configuration Level see Fig. 3.4.

5) Isolate the power supply to the recorder. 6) Remove the recorder from its case see Fig. 3.1. 7) Push the yellow security switch forwards to protect access to the Configuration Level see Fig. 3.1. Note. Ensure that the red switch remains in the rearwards position. 8) Refit the recorder to the case see Fig 3.1. 9) Restore the power supply to the recorder.
