2nd EDIT

I know everybody has been asking about the portion sizes (the 3:2:1 thing) and I thougt that Jenii.E did a great job explaining it. here's what she said: if i remember correctly... Song Hye Gyo's - Carrot Factial Proportions - Carrots: Flour and/or Oatmeal : Water => 3:2:1 For every 3 cups of carrot, theres 2 cups of Flour/Oatmeal; and then For every 2 cups of Flour/Oatmeal, theres 1 cup of Water. Kim Haneul's - Tangerine Facial Proportions - Tangerines : Flour : Water and/or Yogurt => 4 : 2 : 1 For every 4 tangerines, theres 2 cups of Flour; and For every 2 cups of Flour, theres 1 cup of Water/Yoghurt. personally, i just interpreted it as however much water you use, put 2 times as much flour/oatmeal and 3times as much carrots. so if you're putting (pure exaggeration,,) 1 spoon of water, then put in 2 spoons of flour/oatmeal, and 3 spoons of carrots... hope that helps somewhat! oh, and before i forget, PLEASE, guys remember to take caution in trying these things...i know some of you have been getting red blotchy reactions, and i really don't want people to get hurt in the process of getting beautiful!! (although, then the "pain=beauty" thing actually makes sense just take caution, b/c remember everybody has different skin types!! btw, thanks for all the nice comments! ^^ if anyone else has questions, i'll try to answer them by checking up on the post!

EDIT
redbean said that she developed these bright red blotches after trying the milk facial. PLEASE be careful, for those of you who have sensitive skin--I really don't want anyone having really bad reactions to these. Make sure that you take caution (especially if you have sensitive skin) b/c these remedies may not be for everyone! Otherwise~ I think i'm glad i made this post

KimNamJoo - Using Green Tea to clean out pores

- ! . A C . . . . 2 1 . Translation/Directions: KimNamJoo uses green tea to wash her face, keeping her pores clean and her skin looking clear. Green Tea has Vitamin A and C, so it apparently helps blemishes and things like small freckles from appearing. Directions: 1) Make green tea (any type is fine, I'm guessing) and put it in the fridge, making it cold. 2) Before using the green tea, wash your face with HOT water; this will make your pores open up. 3) Finally use the cold green tea to wash your face cleanly.

*If you're using powedered green tea, then put 2 cups of water for every 1 teaspoon of green tea powder. There aren't any specific directions for using tea bags, but I believe it's okay to just make green tea like always and use that.

KimHeeSun - Using Kiwis to make beautiful skin

. . . . . Translation/Directions: KimHeeSun supposedly has "weak" skin and this is a big concern for her. At first she started using kiwis because her face felt like it kept burning up. She's found that Kiwis not only calm that "burning up" skin, but also cleans it very well. Directions: 1) Keep kiwis COLD in the fridge. Use a blender to blend it thoroughly (of course, make sure you cut away the skin ^^). Spread this blended kiwi onto your face. 2) When the Kiwi "pack" (facial in korean) has gotten lukewarm on your face, take it off, and do another round. This helps cools your skin, stopping the burning. (I think this is probably really effective after you've been in the sun for a really long time, my skin always feels this way in the sun!)

LeeMiYeon - Using Red Wine and Honey to make essence cream

- , . OK. . . . . 23 .

Translation/Directions: LeeMiYeon heard that red wine is really good for your skin, so her mom actually put this facial together, which prevents wrinkles and skin problems. Every evening, after showering put it on like any other cream (make sure you pat down, not rub all over---that's a no, no!) Directions: 1) Mix Red wine and Honey together pretty proportionally. Just make sure it's not too watery or not too sticky. Use a small dish to put in fridge. Use this also as a facial sometimes. 2) When using for a facial, spread it out all over your face and and leave it on for 2-3minutes. Afterwards, wash your face with water, taking off the facial. When you do this, you will feel your skin has been very well moisterized.

Former Miss Korea, SonTaeYoung - Using a Milk based facial to whiten skin

- ... . . . . 15 .. * . (( ChoiJungWon [from the recent drama ChilPrincesses] & SongHyegyo are also famous for using this method. I also know that other celebs use this to help clean their face. )) Translation/Directions: Summer is the hardest on SonTaeYoung's skin. She has very sensitive

skin that reacts very easily to the sun, her face quickly becomes red and she begins to have skin problems when in the sun for too long. This is why she uses the milk facial. Directions: 1) Mix milk and flour together, adding a bit of lemon juice. Put a piece of gauze or facial paper (you can get it @ a makeup/local drugstore) on your face. (Sorry, for some reason, there's no info on how much to put for each thing!) 2) On top of the paper, spread the milk facial around and leave it for 15 minutes. Afterwards, skin should be a little "calmer" after a day in the sun and it will go back to being much clearer and whiter. *When you're busy and don't have the time, just wet pieces of makeup cotton balls/circular pieces of cotton (sorry, don't know what they're called) thorougly in milk and leave them on your skin for a while. This is also very effective.

SongHyegyo - Using a Carrot Facial to clear up Acne

- . . : ( , ) : = 3 : 2 : 1 Translation/Directions: 1) Use a blender to blend carrots and make them extremely fine. Mix flour or oatmeal, and water. 2) Proportions: Carrots: Flour and/or Oatmeal : Water => 3:2:1 **For this one, there's also something called HaeCho, it's supposed to be like flour, but I don't really know how to explain it in English. You can also use this instead of the flour/oatmeal. ~~ This wasn't above, but I remember reading and watching on some show that lots of celebs (referring particularly to SongHyeGyo and ChoiJungWon) wash their faces with Milk. First they

wash their faces with hot/warm water and then they use lukewarm milk to wash their faces. Supposedly this helps really whiten your skin, and I know lots of korean women in general do it.

KimHaNeul - Preventing small freckles and skin problems by using a Tangerine Facial

- ...

2 1 1 . * : : = 4 : 2 : 1 Translation/Directions: 1) Blend tangerines to make it really fine(of course, it will be extremely watery). 2) Take 2 teaspoons of the blended tangerines and mix it with 1 teaspoon of yogurt (plain yogurt) and also 1 teaspoon of flour. * Proportions: Tangerines : Flour : Water and/or Yogurt => 4 : 2 : 1

GoSoYoung - Giving skin great nutrients by using a Bannana Facial.

- . . E .

. . * . Translation/Directions: GoSoYoung's youthful skin, despite her age, is due to the nutrients in this Bannana facial. Bannanas have plenty of Vitamin E, preventing skin aging. 1) Squish a bannana up and mix it with honey and flour. 2) Put a gauze or a facial paper, and spread the Bannana paste on top. *Flour has a whitening effect on skin, which is why it is used in many facials. But in this case, it also helps b/c just mixing bannanas and honey would make the facial very slippery on your skin.

Some special tips I found that lots of Korean DAUM users posted: -Cleansing and washing your face is probably the MOST IMPORTANT key in having good skin. (lots of celebs have said this too) ASIDE:**I recently read in the New York Times (i'll try to look up the article, but it's kind of old) that dermatologists are telling their rich patients that the most EXPENSIVE product doesn't mean it's the most EFFECTIVE. They also recommended using a cleanser called "Cetaphil" (which is actually really popular and expensive in korea right now). My mom actually bought cetaphil here and then took it to korea to give as gifts (lots of family/friends were asking for it). Cetaphil is pretty cheap and it can be found in drugstores and grocery stores in the U.S. *** -Drink 8 cups of water a day!!~ I've seen this so many times everywhere I look for skin advice. I really think it works though, so everybody should try it--of course the only side effect is that you'll have to go pee every 5 minutes 0_o -Eat plenty of fruit and veggies; don't just stop @ the perfect servings. Eat, drink fruit as much as possible. -Another addition to the water drinking thing! If you go to Korea, all girls/women carry around a water bottle, not full of water, but full of green tea!! This just shows not only how popular, but effective green tea is! Green tea is good for your health too, so just try to drink some! I know some people don't really like the taste, but you should try some once in a while, it's always good for you!!

I really hope this helps SOMEBODY....sorry for some lack of details, this was all they gave me. If you have any questions, feel free to post!! ~ although i'm not sure I'm going to have the answer If you think there are some mistakes in the translations, then PLEASE TELL ME...i don't want to give the wrong translation! BTW, this took like 2.5 hours....please don't bash on me;; or for that matter, any of the

celebs! BUT, a kind "thank you" would be really appreciated!! If I find any more info, maybe i'll post, but this took soooooo long @_@ PS~ sorry for the pic spam, but i knew that some of the celebs were much older, and probably not as well known here @soompi. You guys probably can tell which are my faves though ^^ sorry, couldn't help myself with all the beautiful pics i found!!
