Fabricator

Fabricators are mainly responsible for fabricating and installing specified cladding systems. It is their ability to manage the initial project cash flows and innovative techniques that they have acquired over the years that gives them the competitive edge. They obtain their profit margins by handling large numbers of jobs with a relatively higher turnover.To maintain healthy business they need to keep a good rapport with following agencies, System designers by maintaining links: Fabricators are normally tied or franchised wholly to one system designer. But their main concern is to acquire contracts for which they need to cover a wide range of work possible. Architects, Specifiers and a main Contractor by having good contacts: Fabricators need to keep good rapport with the main contractor as they have influence on tendering and specification phases, as well as they are responsible for the payments. They often promote systems with their installation skills for the purpose of marketing. Limitations: Fabricators need to be dependent on system designers and suppliers for deliverables. Contracts are awarded based on financial and other important resources of the fabricating company. Being a skilled fabricator alone will not help to acquire large contracts. Fabricators are the one who need to take the full responsibility as they are the in the relatively exposed situation. They have to find out site solutions for local problems as architects or system designers do not claim responsibility for the same.

The Role of an architect is to translate the clients requirements into a design that is both acceptable to the client and practicable for system designer. They want to achieve anticipated looks for the building with stipulated performance. System designers advise in terms of providing reliable solution for the project. They often provide appropriate cost estimates and technical information that encourages a specification. Cladding consultants offer to guide clients and architects towards the effective design solution that really does meet needs.

Main Contractor

The role of the main contractor varies with the type of contract involved and the kind of services provided. They find ways of reducing cost without affecting specified results for financial gains in lump sum type of contracts. They can alter work specifications in different stages of work by persuading clients. They make sure that scheme works in given conditions without claiming responsibility for the same. They become immediate customers to subcontracting fabricators. They acquire power of providing or removing the support to individual fabricating companies in the interest of the project. They influence important decisions on award of scope and job to subcontracting companies as financial failure on their counterparts can be awkward and costly.
