The purpose of a community organizer is to divide up the community in an organized manner such that the divisions may be manipulated to suit the organizer's purpose. The Hope On July 27, 2004, at the Democratic National Convention, Senator Obama delivered the keynote address (transcript) in which he spoke of unifying the people of the United States. Has he lived up to the standards he set forth in his speech? On June 3, 2008, on the final primary night in St. Paul, Minnesota, the now presumptive Democratic nominee for President, Barack Obama delivered a rousing speech (transcript) ending on a high note with nearly messianic platitudes. On October 27, 2008, Democratic nominee for President, Barack Obama spoke in Canton, Ohio (transcript). He spoke of ending the political games that divide us. Has he lived up to this call? On November 4, 2008, now President-elect, a gracious Barack Obama delivered his victory speech in Grant Park, Illinois (Transcript). Without question, President Obama is a gifted speaker; however, does he live up to the standards that he sets through his speeches? The Change On March 29, 2008, during a town hall meeting in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a woman pleaded to Senator Obama to stop these abortions. Senator Obamas response included the comment Look, I got two daughters - 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby. I don't want them punished with an STD at age 16, so it doesn't make sense to not give them information." In making this statement Senator Obamas viewpoint seems to be that abortion is a way out for a teenager who, out of irresponsible behavior, has an unwanted pregnancy. Its also curious that he equated babies and STDs both as punishments. On April 6, 2008, during a campaign event in San Francisco, candidate Obama insulted many Pennsylvanians and other Midwestern small-town, working-class Americans when, referring to the permanent manufacturing job losses experienced in the 70s and 80s, he said, "it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations (article)." In speaking to Californians about Pennsylvanians, Senator Obamas comments were insensitive at best, but they could also be construed as being divisive in nature, and in the context of the statement that was made, creating a negative stereotype. On April 25, 2008, Presidential Candidate, Senator Barack Obama spoke in front of a gas station in Indiana about gas prices. Then, on March 15, 2012, President Obama, speaking at Prince George's Community College in Largo, Maryland, criticized politicians for using gas station photo ops.

On May 19, 2008, in Billings, Montana, Presidential candidate Obama promised to not use signing statements. President Obama has issued numerous signing statements during his term. On June 30, 2008, candidate Obama delivered a speech (article) in Independence, Missouri in which he stated, I will never question the patriotism of others in this campaign. A few days later, on July 3, 2008, in Fargo, North Dakota, candidate Obama contradicted himself when he stated President Bush was unpatriotic in increasing the debt. On September 26, 2008, during the first Presidential debate (transcript) in Oxford, Mississippi,, candidate Obama described President Bush as presiding over an orgy of spending On October 7, 2008, during the second Presidential debate (transcript) in Nashville, Tennessee, candidate Obama talked about cutting spending. On February 23, 2009, President Obama promised to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term in office. The budget deficit in 2009 was $1.4 trillion. The projected budget deficit for 2012 is $1.2 trillion. As an aside, even more worrisome, the debt on the day President Obama took office was $10.626 trillion due to profligate government spending. The debt is now greater than $15.7 trillion and the country is headed for dire straits unless the American citizens take responsibility and hold all of the politicians accountable for their reckless spending. Congress continues to show their contempt for the welfare of the nation by having not passed a budget in more than 3 years. The Senate continues to break the law by not passing a budget, and even now the Senate continues to refuse to discuss a budget for FY13. On April 29, 2009, President Obama mocked tea partiers and Fox News at a town hall event, on th his 100 day in office, in Arnold, Missouri (transcript). Is this how a leader brings people together or is this how an agitator manipulates a message to suit his purpose? This rhetoric is based on a tactic straight from Saul Alinskys Rules for Radicals. The fifth rule states, "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage." Is this The Hope that the President promised before taking office? On May 21, 2009, at the National Archives Building in Washington D.C., President Obama delivered a major policy speech (transcript) on national security. During the speech, the President made several comments regarding prolonged detention. These comments caught the attention of MSNBCs Rachel Maddow. In the opening segment of her show, that same day, she questioned and expressed concern regarding the claims to new power that the President made during the speech. On July 22, 2009, President Obama held a primetime press conference (transcript) to help promote his health care reform plan. Responding to a question, President Obama utilized an example of tonsil removal to demonize doctors as making decisions based on fee payment schedules and not on based on need. On July 22, 2009, during the same press conference, President Obama, responding to a question regarding race relations in America and the recent arrest of Professor Henry Louis Gates, admitted knowing Professor Gates and not knowing all the facts related to the incident. Later during his response, the President stirred up controversy when he said, Its fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry. Number two, that the Cambridge Police acted stupidly (pause) in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were already in their own home. So after admitting that he didnt have all the facts he felt that it was fair to say that the Cambridge Police acted stupidly. The controversy that ensued, regarding the incident and the Presidents statement, resulted in a Beer Summit at the Whitehouse (photos). On August 5, 2009, during an interview with NBCs Chuck Todd in Elkhart, Indiana, President Obama says, you dont raise taxes in a recession.

On August 11, 2009, President Obama held a health care town hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire (transcript) as part of his push to promote his health care reform plan. During his remarks he demonized doctors that treat diabetics by implying that doctors would choose amputation over preventative care because surgery is more profitable. On April 15, 2010, President Obama again mocked the tea party, this time while attending a DNC reception at the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, Florida (transcript). Again, is this how a leader brings people together or is this how an agitator manipulates a message to suit his purpose? Is this The Hope that the President promised before taking office? On Oct 25, 2010, in a radio interview with Univision (transcript), President Obama, responding to a question regarding when he will push immigration reform, made the statement, And if Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, we're gonna punish our enemies and we're gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us, if they don't see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it's gonna be harder and that's why I think it's so important that people focus on voting on November 2. This rhetoric stands in stark contrast to the Presidents theme of bringing people together and not pushing them apart. On December 14, 2011, during an interview with Keith Olbermann on Current TV, Rep. Jerrold Nadler decries President Obama for not vetoing National Defense Authorization Act. President Obamas Hostility towards Christianity On June 28, 2006, in a speech to the liberal Christian group Call to Renewal Senator Obama mocked and attacked Jesus Christ and the Bible by taking several verses from various books of the Bible out of context. On April 14, 2009, President Obama gave a speech on the economy at Georgetown University. Prior to giving the speech the University was required to cover a monogram for the name of Jesus. On September 15, 2010, President Obama leaves "By their Creator" out of Declaration of Independence reference during his speech at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute's 33rd Annual Awards Gala (transcript). President Obama and His Relationship with Reverend Jeremiah Wright There has been no shortage of controversy regarding President Obamas relationship with Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Among the items revealed in this interview were an attempt to buy Reverend Wrights silence by Dr. Eric Whitaker, and a personal meeting between candidate Obama and Reverend Wright. On May 16, 2012, Sean Hannity again interviewed Ed Klein for his television program. During the television interview Sean and Ed discussed additional portions of Eds 3 hour interview (excerpts) with Reverend Wright. Among the items discussed during the television interview are Dr. Whitakers attempt to buy the silence of Rev. Wright through the 2008 election, candidate Obama met with Rev. Wright during the campaign to try and persuade Rev. Wright to remain silent through the election. An interesting recording from the Rev. Wright interview regarding the end of his meeting with candidate Obama was also revealed. Reverend Wright states that candidate Obama said to him, You know what your problem is? To which Rev. Wright responded, So whats my problem? He then stated that candidate Obama said, You have to tell the truth. Rev. Wright replies, Thats a good problem to have. The booklet has a brief bio on Barack Obama in which it states, Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii. By no means is a bio brief from a promotional booklet proof of Barack Obama having been born anywhere other than in Hawaii. However, considering the error was allowed to continue until 2007 along with the other questions raised in the articles, it does call into question President Obamas character (by him providing a false biography) along with the mainstream medias unrepentant disregard for investigative journalism with respect to Barack Obama.
