Lynns D&D Campaign

18 Feb, 2012 +700 xp from last adventure +1500 xp from this adventure We are in a Wales like country in or around 500CE. Came from Elven lands via the Elven walk ways (Green Road) similar to the Wizard Ways (which isnt discussed with others, especially the church), but we had to come through naked, a la terminator. The lands seem really strange, like it may not be our Earth. Forrest in particular has a bad feel, and we were hit with acorns by something in the forest. Little fey creatures, brownies? King Caradoc rules the land. Items I have now: heavy mace, bedroll, backpack, waterskin, wood holy symbol, leather armour, heavy wooden shield, monks outfit, 5-days iron rations. 2.2 gold pieces. Horse with basic saddle and other necessary bits and bridles (loan from King). We are looking for Brion, an elven female, who can possible cure Terry of lycanthropy head north (across the river) into lightly forested area and then follow this path, about 1-day or less away. There is also some sort of animal attacks going on, also across the river. East and South is the forest of Dean. There are two main rivers, one is the river Wye. Sheep changing colour when they cross the stream, it is the enchantment of Britain. Places touched by the otherworld, mystical ways. It is a phenomenon when mystical things happen more often than not. This one started about 20years ago. Result of the king and his wizard, when the king was declared and the kingdom created King Arthur declared 20-years ago wizard would be Merlin. Forrest became impassable, and area cut off from King Arthur within the last year. My character has a soft glow, almost halo affect, unique to this land. Head north to find Brion, and found a burnt hut in the forest. Search and find human bones, we think about 4 people (2 adults and 2 children). Also find huge footprints giant sized & humanoid. Signs that the giant creature trampled around the area. Fire happened 3-4 days ago and tracks seem to be about the same age. Looks like the bones have large teeth marks on them and that the bodies had been tossed on the fire. Buried and blessed the bodies. Decided to continue on to Brion since it is only a few hours away, will backtrack later to get giant. Find hill and start up and get electric charge when doing so. Odd sensations, hair stand up, feel unnatural stuffiness like in the Forrest of Dean when we first showed up, but this time it is a good feeling. Start up the hill and find a path, realize that we had been on the path for some time without being aware of it. Path then becomes stone path, then realize that see

that the stones have rough carvings on them. Definitely some sort of magical affect similar to affect I had in Magyar village. Find tree at top of the hill, and it is slowly turning. Half the leaves look like they are on fire and half are vivid green. Woman standing at base of the tree, gown is green like tree and other seems to be flickering flame. Make will save, failed people dismounted and started walking towards her, make save and you realize this and are able to stop. Definitely under some sort of enchantment. When break out of this enchantment, the tree seems totally normal, and her gown changes into some sort of white shimmering fabric. Sean and Dwight continue forward. Gal is tall with reddish hair, recognize that she is an elf, and she gives off a glow similar to mine. Asks why we are here, tell her to get Terry cured. She is happy to have people from beyond visit her. She casts some spell and looks at all of us. Spell tells here who is infected. Says she can cure this, and will give us a cure, but we need to help her. She is in this land for a purpose. Price is twofold: 1) Certain creatures are manifests of evil. Some distance from here is a dragon which must be dispatched. The dragon is causing considerable harm to several lands, and is of the most evil and reviled kind. Many men have tried to dispatch it, and many goodly knights have been killed. There is a weapon being held by Grund (this is the giant fiend that someone mentioned at the feast table.) This weapon is in his treasure trove and will be exceptionally helpful in killing the dragon. Confirmation that Grund is a 20-25 foot giant that eats humans. Blade is from someone dear to her, but that failed to kill Grund. Things we need to know about Grund: primitive looking creature, with great eyesight. Prefers to wield a long spear (think lance in length) with a poisoned tip, but doesnt throw it. Many of the knights like to joust so he uses it against them. Dont underestimate his intelligence, many people think that he is some sort of animal, but clearly he is not. Has a thick hide. Is a unique type of giant, not like any that we are familiar with. He does have missile weapons, throws stones. Gives Sean something to hold in his shield hand, which will protect him in close combat. Squeeze it very tightly to activate, will last for a few hours. Cant actually use a shield when you have this in your hand. Elves undergo some sort of alteration in this land. If you stay for more than one week you will be altered. This affects all magical people, enchantments, etc. This is part of the sacrifice that was made by the elven clerics and why they left. She has become something different, no longer truly elven. Take the Roman road and when it splits take the middle road till come to hill, will see a lot of damage, place is called burial place or worship place and he lives there. Some sort of barrows. Is he an undead barrow-wright? After the night sleeping, a good deep sleep for those of us who imbibed on her hooch, Dwight realizes that his clothes are a little less tight, ie. He has started to transform and is a little smaller. Brion is singing in the morning, beautiful

voice. (Taste the Rainbow elves shit little skittle bits) The brownie things in the forest that tossed acorns at us are former elves? Is this what they get reduced to? Reach road and take middle path, as we progress see skulls along the ground facing in towards the road. Humanoid shaped and sized. This is a partially built hill, ie not natural, built up. Area approaching the hill has been cleared, creating a kill zone, so anyone approaching will be visible to whomever is on top of the hill. This cleared area surrounds the hill in all directions. We do seem to see some sort of opening in the hill. Dwight and Terry climb trees and spy a tall figure on the hill, which seems to be walking some sort of guard pattern. Goes down hill, around the hill, then appears at the top of the hill. Cant quite discern a pattern. Send scouts out. Dwight sprung a trap for damage. Decided that we will set a trap at this point, pretending the bait is caught in the trap. Will try to call him out to see what his trap caught and then jump him from hidden spots. As creature draws closer we begin to feel a tingling sensation. Recall that she said that creatures are an embodiment of evil or of good in this lands. Has a 3-hex reach. Skin is sort of a greenish colour with tons of warts. He is really ugly with a strong rotting stench. All made Fortitude saves, wizard failed and is nauseated. Huge teeth with stuff sticking out, some missing. Eyes show very intelligent. Everything from him radiates a dread wrongness. (New spell Strength of Samson not work on bald, and STR increase is dependent on the length of the persons hair. Strength of Caesar increase based on the amount of chest hair. Strength of Amazon based on breast size.) Realization dawns on us that wizard doesnt have his spellbook. When he casts a spell it will be used and gone. Really need to conserve his spells since they cannot be replaced. Masterwork Half-plate armour from burrow. +9 AC bonus. Also find two shields with towns heraldic symbol. These are the armours from the rulers two sons. Also have magic stone from Brion. Brion tells us that we will meet someone in the town of Hay who will challenge us and help us. Heed her word. Wants some token from when we kill the wyrm, and then she will heal and send us back. Dragon scale will suffice. Rumour says is grey colour and breathes fire. Age is unknown. When passing through Hay ask the locals as this is the closest town. When we return to the town, there is a big feast to celebrate. The bard quickly composes our adventure and tells it, with me telling the local priest the story in Latin, and he telling it in the local tongue. This is well received. The bard nailed the adventure. King re-gifts us silver goblets which were originally gifts from King Arthur. Everyone gets one of these, though not sure what we will do with them when we return to our lands as we cannot take anything with us. There is an imprint of a castle on the goblets. Grants us the horses and the sons armour, with the heraldic symbol removed from the shields black surface. I wonder if I would have time to have the shield painted white with a red cross put on it before we

leave. Probably not enough time to have a tabard made to go over the armour with this heraldic device on it. Get sealed scroll from King Cairadoc that acts as a greeting to other nobles of the land. Gives us rights of hospitality. As leaving the town are piped out and the priest tells us that they are performing the song that tells of our epic saga and the death of Grund. Our elf is now 2 shorter in height than when we came to this strange land. 22 Apr, 2012 Talk to priest, who talks to warriors, all agree that the dragon breathes fire. Though no one has seen the dragon, most agree that it is the size of three peasants huts. Wake up the next morning, and the King looks slightly different. The wizard has a sense in the magic, like a curse has been lifted. Felt it when he entered the hall, some magical force has been removed. Elf woke up another inch shorter. Knight wont let us cross the bridge without engaging him in knightly combat. We defeated him, but he had some odd divine magic sense about him. Glowing blue light under his helmet, healing him. When defeated, he looked like half-lycanthrope human like Sean turned into. We kept his helmet, sword, and shield. When squire came over, he started to grow in size and took over as the new knight. Then a new squire came out of the tent. Sean through the lances over the bridge into the river. After talking to the squire I noticed that new lances were in the rack automatically. The items we took do radiate Divine magic, but the magic is slowly changing. The wizard also detects a curse on the Elf. Thieves snuck up on us at night, combat. Masterwork leather armour, and masterwork longbow. Earned 4,000 XP
