Domingo is the only 33rd District congressional candidate who has a strong history and track record as a coalition builder. He also cares about the needs of our community.

Domingo Garcia marched for civil rights alongside Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Dr. Joseph Lowery and Caesar Chavez. He led busloads of African American and Hispanic leaders to stand up for immigrant rights in Arizona. Domingo served as trusted confidant and Texas campaign manager for Rev. Jackson during his historic campaign for U.S. President.

Champion for fair representation Domingo Garcia built support from all corners of Dallas and successfully fought for single-member city council districts. As the result, all residents of Dallas now have a voice and fair representation at Dallas City Council. As Dallas' first Hispanic Dallas Mayor Pro Tem, Domingo worked with the late Al Lipscomb to establish the Citizens Police Review Board, bringing an end to racially motivated police crimes. Catalyst for justice and equality in Texas As a Texas State Representative, Domingo Garcia built the coalitions needed to win passage of the landmark James Byrd Hate Crimes Act. He also sponsored the 10% Rule which has leveled the educational playing field for minority students who want to go to college.

Our best Democratic Party choice for Congress As a lifelong democrat, Domingo Garcia supported Barack Obama from the earliest days of his presidential campaign; served as a local co-chair for the Obama campaign; and, today, advises President Obama on minority outreach for his reelection campaign. Domingo Garcia is the only choice for the 33rd Congressional District. Voters in the 33rd Congressional District deserve a coalition builder with a proven track record. We need someone in Washington D.C. who will stand alongside President Obama and fight for education, safer neighborhoods, and a stronger economy.
