For eyes that can see and discern the truth

By Cho Lay June 18, 2012 posted at Facebook At present on the Facebook; social net work is full of photos and news about Daw Aung San Suu Kyis European tour and very few news and comments regarding the Rohinja issue in Rakhine state. Therefore those who opposed Daw Aung San Suu Kyi have made critical comments regarding the current situation. On June 16,one of my niece said, U ChoLay, you have posted plenty of photos regarding Daw Aung Suu Kyi,when plenty of people are suffering and facing problems in Rakhine state, and you have given priority to Daw Aung San Suu Kyis Noble Prize Award Events, there will surely be critics and comments. On my Facebok Timeline, I have posted news in both English and Burmese with the objective of sharing the important and latest events and issues with friends including the website link and source so that interested person can read and study it if they want to. A variety of photos, audio files, pictures, essays, poetry etc; some like to hear about the latest news, some poetry, some on love, some on crime, economics, politics, etc..; I can still remember part of the poetry I had learned when I was in the nursery. It was about Meal Time poetry. Ko Thar Wite Skinny and eat no fat, Ma Thuzar Storky and short doesnt like meat. But when Ko Thar Wite and Ma Thuzar got married, Finished and clean up the whole dish of pork curry. Similarly, there are plenty of books on various topics in a library. People took and read what they prefer. I am not worshipping Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Those with negative outlook on Daw Aung San Suu Kyi made very rude and harsh comments on her. Everybody has his/her own outlook. Some are envious of her. Even in one family, opinion regarding her differs. My eldest brother said that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has no spirit of Patriotism, even though he recognizes her ability and capability. But he is not interested in her endeavors. I have read the book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Dr.Stephen R.Covey. He stated that... Two people can see the same thing, disagree, and yet both be right. Its not logical; its psychological. The way we see things is the source of the way we think and the way we act. Therefore Seek first to Understand then to be Understood is one of the habits that I prefer the most. He also stated that We interpret them differently because we have been conditioned to interpret them differently. Remember that your paradigm is the source from which your attitudes and behaviors flow.

It is true that where we stand depends on where we sit. If I had written the alphabet , the person sitting in front facing me will say it is , the person on my left will see it as 3 and the person on my right will see it as . Therefore depending on where we sit and also on our own past experiences and lessons we will have different views and opinions. We cannot judge that the other person is wrong because he had a different opinion or outlook that differs from us. I am not a Politician, Journalist, Writer, Philosopher and Religious leader, neither Historian nor Party Member. I am just a human being from this planet earth and have the human nature as all others. There are those who have eyes but do not see and ears that do not hear. So if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into the ditch. My uncle Toe-Tet-Yay U Sein@ U BaGyiNgo (Vipasana Teacher) had said to me Look beyond Burma! Ideas are Diamonds. Read, read, read. Think, think, think. You can change the world. He also said, You have to have a wide view. Not to have a narrow focus view. Otherwise you will be like a toad in a buffalo hoof mud hole thinking that it is an ocean. Jesus Christ said, Do not judge and you will not be judged. Love your neighbors as yourself. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good, and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Every good tree bears good fruit but a bad tree bears bad fruit, A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. A tree is known by its fruit. Lord Buddha preached, Avoid two extremes. Practice the middle way. (MegGin 8 concepts). Must see the truth as it is. On June 16, evening, my two brothers-in-law and I were viewing and listening to the DVB Broadcasting Live the speech of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi for Oslo, Norway. Together with the audience who stood up to give a standing ovation, we applauded together with them. We are proud of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. We regard and honor her compassion for the people and her conviction on democracy. She has fully leadership skills and because of her the International Community has an interest in the Myanmar Situation and whole heartedly supports her endeavors. She has sacrificed so much of herself and her family. The authorities tend to ignore her popularity and recognition by the International Community. It is quite obvious that they want undermine her popularity and name. I am not criticizing others. I just reflection myself and consider myself as a sinner. So I tried to search for ways and means of salvation for myself and now I have found the way, the truth and the life. Well, this is my personal and spiritual matter. Regarding Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, I admire her tact, her wisdom and knowledge in answering questions by journalists. Her speeches and lectures are from the bottom of her heart and I can comprehend with her feelings. If we who are not well versed in English can be touched by her words, how much more will be the English native speakers!

Many criticizing her for using Burma instead of Myanmar. And tried to find fault with her that she is not abiding according to the constitution. But as for me, language or names doesnt matter because communication is just to convey the message and the person/people who hear it need to understand what you want to convey. Kalagyi or Ahyargyi is the same! For some indigenous or ethnic group, if you mention Myanmar, they understood it as only the Myanmar ethnic group. Only if you say Burma or Burmese people, it encompasses all ethnic minorities / groups. I felt that those critics are just trying to find fault with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi because everybody knows that Burma and Myanmar is the same. I feel sad that government owned newspapers did not mention anything about Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. But the whole world is going high priority to her travels and speeches. I have posted on my Facebook status about The Wolf and the Lamb Its very interesting. Just read it! The strong is always right. We will prove it shortly. A lamb was quenching its thirst In clear steam; a starving wolf suddenly appears, looking for a meal, Brought here by hunger. How dare you foul my water hole? said the wolf full of righteous fury: You will be chastised for you temerity. Sire, replies the lamb. Your Majesty Need not be angry: But rather consider that I am drinking more than twenty feet downstream from him; Therefore in no way Could I spoil his water? Oh, yes you do, growled the cruel beast; And I heard that you spoke ill of me last year. How could I, if I were not yet born? The lamb persisted, I am still nursing. If it were not you, then it must have been your brother. I dont have any. Then it was one of your lot; because you are always pestering me, You, your shepherds and your dogs, So, I have been told: I must avenge myself. With that, deep in the forest, The wolf carried off the lamb, and ate it, without further ado.

I have also posted on my Facebook Timeline about six blind men who have different views about on elephant. The reason was that it was only their thinking because they were blind and cannot see. Majority of people think that they are wise because they have degrees, power or money, and people have regard for them. In reality, many do not understand about The Law of Progress The first step is that they are still in the stage of I dont know what I dont know The second stage is I know what I dont know Only where they are in the second step can they began to grow. We should know the word of Socrates. One thing only I know, and that is that I know nothing. As long as a person doesnt know that he doesnt know, he doesnt grow. What we need in our country is not hatred, violence and lawlessness but is love and wisdom, and compassion towards one another, and a feeling of justice toward those who still suffer within our country. In conclusion, I just want to say that we need to have eyes that can see the truth. Thank you very much. Cho Lay June 18, 2012
