1/2011 SUPPLEMENTARY NOTIFICATION Amendment to the notification Rc. No. 931/R&T/Rect.1/2011 dated 03-11-2011 In the above notification dated 03-11-2011, it was stated that Questions in the written examination will be set in English and Telugu languages in Paper III and Paper IV and language tests both in English and Telugu. Now, the Government have permitted to conduct the written examination in Urdu language also in addition to Telugu and English languages in Paper III and Paper IV and Urdu Language Test is introduced in place of Telugu Language Test for the candidates who opted to write the language test in Urdu vide G.O. Ms. No. 95 Home (Legal.II) Dept., dated 25-05-2012. In view of the above, the following amendment is given for the notification issued in Rc. No. 931/R&T/Rect.1/2011 dated 03-11-2011 AMENDMENT Dated: 04-06-2012

I)

In the said notification, against para 14 (C), the following may be read:

C) Written Examination: Candidates who qualify in the Physical Efficiency Test will be required to appear for a written examination in four papers (each of three hours duration) as given below. The syllabus is given in Annexure II.

Paper IV General Studies (Objective in nature) 200 100 Note: i) The minimum marks to be secured by a candidates in order to qualify in the written examination is 40% for OCs; 35% for BCs; and 30% for SCs/STs and Ex.Servicemen in each paper. ii) Papers I and II are only qualifying in nature. The cases of the candidates who do not secure the minimum qualifying marks in these papers i.e., papers I and II will not be considered further in the selection process irrespective of their performance in papers III & IV. The marks secured in these papers i.e., papers I and II will not be taken into account for final selection. iii) Papers I and II referred above will include questions that are subjective and objective in nature. They have to answer the questions using blue / black pen. iv) Questions in Papers III and IV will be objective in nature and will be set in English, Telugu and Urdu languages. Candidates have to answer the questions on an OMR answer sheet using Blue / Black Ball Point pen only. For this purpose candidates should bring Blue / Black Ball Point pens along with them. II) In the said notification, in Annexure - II, against Paper II, the following may be read: PAPER II: The candidates can choose to have one of the languages i.e., either Telugu or Urdu and should indicate his choice as and when asked for. Option once exercised will be final and a candidate will not be allowed to change it subsequently. TELUGU (DESCRIPTIVE TYPE) The candidates understanding of the Telugu language, its correct usage and his writing ability would be tested. Questions on short essay, comprehension, prcis, letter writing, paragraph writing / report writing, translation from Telugu to English etc. would be included. URDU (DESCRIPTIVE TYPE) The candidates understanding of the Urdu language, its correct usage and his writing ability would be tested. Questions on short essay, comprehension, prcis, letter writing, paragraph writing / report writing, translation from Urdu to English etc. would be included.
