am running for Independence Township Treasurer and Id

Ive already shared with you that 20 years
ago I was a farm handyman. In fact, I held a
number of jobs in my 20s and I loved them all.
I waited tables, washed dishes, was a short
order cook and managed Wendys restaurants -
- in addition to being a handyman. Some kids
are not ready for college right out of high
school and I definitely fit into that group.
When I was 32, encouraged by family and
friends, I enrolled at Oakland University as a
full-time student.
Im not ashamed to admit I was more than a
little scared of the proposition that I might fail.
That fear quickly turned to a passion for
learning. I put on blinders and pushed ahead. I
completed my 4-year bacholers degree in
accounting in 3 years, including a 1 semester
internship with an accounting firm. On
average, I took 5 classes per semester plus 2 spring and 2 summer straight through. I
graduated with honors on December 17, 1997 and started work at the accounting firm
a few days later.
Success is often accomplished when we work hard at something we are passionate
about. If elected Treasurer on August 7, I will bring my work ethic and passion for our
community to the office. Your vote for me is a vote towards improving Independence
Township.
