From the DME, Hyd., Lr.No.2600/ME-A/2006, dt.18.3.2008. *** O R D E R: In the letter 3rd read above, the Managements Association of Andhra Pradesh Private Medical and Dental Colleges has requested the Government to allow them to fill up left over vacant seats in the competent authority quota under A and B categories, after the final round of counseling in order not to lose the seats since admissions in MBBS/BDS course are required to be completed by a particular date according to Medical Council of India norms. In the meeting on 2nd April , 2008 the Managements Association of Andhra Pradesh Private Medical & Dental Colleges have also requested to conduct interview for the candidates applying for admission in their College under the management quota i.e., under C category, in order to avoid multiple blocking of seats by the same candidate in more than one college; that the colleges should be allowed to submit merit list prepared by them under management quota for C category, for scrutiny and approval from time to time till the final date of admission is over. 2. In the letter 4th read above, the Director of Medical Education has stated that as per the Medical Council of India Regulations for Graduate Medical Education, 1997 as at para (5) (ii) the following regulation has been prescribed for selection of students for admission of MBBS/BDS courses, and therefore, he has requested to issue necessary amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Unaided Non-Minority Professional Institutions (Regulations of Admissions into Under Graduate Medical and Dental Professional Courses) Rules, 2007 issued in G.O.Ms.No.136, HM&FW (E1) Dept., dated 30.4.2007:For admission of MBBS Course on the basis of competitive entrance examination, a candidate for admission to medical course must have obtained not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together both at qualifying and competitive examination 2

The Government after careful examination have decided to amend the Andhra Pradesh Un-aided Non-Minority Professional Institutions (Regulations of Admissions into Under Graduate Medical and Dental Professional Courses) Rules, 2007 issued in G.O.Ms.No. 136, HM&FW.(E1) Dept., dated 30th April, 2007. 4. Accordingly, the following notification shall be published in the Extraordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette, dated: 23 -5- 2008:NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 3 and 15 of the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Prohibition of Capitation Fee) Act, 1983 (A.P. Act No. 5 of 1983) the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Un-aided Non-Minority Professional Institutions (Regulations of Admissions into Under Graduate Medical and Dental Professional Courses) Rules, 2007 issued in G.O.Ms.No. 136, HM&FW.(E1) Dept., dated 30th April, 2007 and published in the Rules supplement to Part-I, A.P. Gazette No. 30, dated the 2nd May 2007. AMENDMENTS In the said rules, in rule 3, (1) after sub-rule (d) , the following shall be added namely:(e) In respect of competent authority quota, the candidates should also obtain minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the common entrance test. In respect of candidates belonging to Schedule Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination be 40% instead of 50% as stated above. (2) in rule 6 B, under clause (viii), sub-clause (h) shall be omitted. (3) in rule 6 C, for sub-rules (6) and (7) the following shall be substituted, namely :(6) The College shall prepare a merit list of all the candidates who have applied to the college based on the marks obtained in the three subjects mentioned in instruction (5) above and the interview conducted by the College to prevent multiple blocking of the seats in more than one college. (7) The merit list prepared by the college shall be sent to the Dr. NTRUHS for scrutiny and approval from time to time till the final date of admission. 3

(4) After rule 6(C), of the following shall be added, namely : 6 (D) TO FILL UP UNFILLED SEATS:The College can admit the candidates in seats left unfilled under Competent Authority quota, after final counseling as per the order of merit applicable for selection of candidates and send the list of candidates so admitted to Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences for scrutiny and approval .
