Instituted plagiarism prevention checks of research papers, doctoral theses, Master s level dissertations and B.Tech project work emanating from JNTUH to ensure original content and promote intellectual honesty, November 2008. Launched JNTU-R&D Cell Student Research Projects Scheme (JRSP-09) for UG and PG students on Jan 19th 2009 a student centered scheme - to enable students to undertake application and hardware oriented projects. Held independent charge of one of the seven Bureaus of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi responsible for the promotion of Research culture (both capacity and capability building) among teaching faculty of second tier technical institutions; promote innovations, R&D in established and new technologies; generation, adoption and adaptation of newer technologies to meet development requirements and for overall improvement of educational processes; and to promote effective linkages with other relevant systems including industry, R & D organisations and the community. Duties involve: planning, promotion, implementation, disbursal of funds, and reporting on the implementation of various schemes operated by the Bureau, under the authority of the Chairman of AICTE and guided by the advisory Board of Research & Institutional Development and the Board of Industry-Institute Interaction, for overall improvement of the educational process in the country. The Annual fund disbursal was approximately Rupees 45 crores, about US$10 million.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN AICTE Bureau of Research & Institutional Development:A. Research and Institutional Development Schemes: Impact study of Modernisation & Removal of Obsolescence scheme (MODROBS), Thrust Area Programme in Technical Education scheme (TAPTEC) and Research & Development scheme (R&D) undertaken in collaboration with National Institute of Science & Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS), CSIR, New Delhi.
o Designed Questionnaires, sent out to 1000 Project leaders and received 22% responses.

Formulated Research Promotion Scheme (RPS)in place of R&D and TAPTEC schemes to make it:
o o o Tangible output oriented (patents, commercialization, etc.) Enable capacity & capability building (building research culture and generating Ph.D's). IPR feature (techno-commercial survey) incorporated in the project proposal formulation.

Industry Institute Partnership Schemes: Coordinated with Dept. of Science & Technology, GOI to review and streamline the schemes of: o Entrepreneurship & Mgmt. Collaborated with MICO-BOSCH, Bangalore to introduce Power Tools in 15 Govt.
