Publications are essential part of research process. They not only express the outcomes of the research but also pave the way for the further progress in the particular field. These convey the dynamics of research process in any institution. ICFRE has a long tally of Indian as well as foreign journals in which the research outcomes of the Council were published over the years. In the present compilation publications for a period of seven years i.e. from 2004 to 2010 were incorporated for providing a glimpse of the research publications of ICFRE. Research articles of the Council were appeared in 107 Indian journals and in 162 foreign journals. The most favoured Indian journals were The Indian Forester, Annals of Forestry, Indian Journal of Forestry, ENVIS Forestry Bulletin and Journal of Non-Timber Forest Products. The foreign journals which were trusted the most for publications were International Journal For. Usuf. Management, Journal of Tropical Forest Science, Forest Tree and Livelihood, Australian Forestry, and Journal of Forest Research. Over all 957 research papers were published during the period out of which 689 were appeared in Indian journals. Besides the research papers appeared in various journals, a lot of research outcomes were presented in the form of research papers, posters, presentations in various national and international workshops, symposia, seminars. The research publications were also published in the form of books, brochures, bulletins, booklets, pamphlets and chapters in books. The ICFRE publications were compiled in following four categories- Research papers published in Indian Journals (17.1), Research papers published in foreign Journals (17.2), Papers presented in Workshops and Seminars (17.3) and Books (including chapters in books), Brochures and Periodicals (17.4) including the Publications of FRI, Dehradun. Besides the regular research papers Gene/DNA regions were published in Gene Bank, National Centre for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), USA for fungal isolates.
