What is most important is that we educate not only our youth, but ourselves, and our elders, as well.

Too long, our schools have failed us in effort to provide an egalitarian education. The enemy of excellence is "good enough". Glossing over important points in our history to be sure and finish an inflexible curriculum leaves many without the thirst for knowledge they first walked into school with. When you went into school for the first time, you were probably excited - you were going to learn to read, to do "math", to study history, make new friends, and become a young adult - adventure awaited you. Oh, what any of us would give for the enthusiasm of that first day of school. By this statement I in no way lay blame on the teachers or the administrators - the creep of ignorance has been slow, steady, and methodical. An uneducated people is a people already conquered. We no longer can truly claim the birthright we owned in previous generations - a land of opportunity, of "Yankee ingenuity", purveyors of "Pax Americana". These days have slipped by us, and we must now make our way as best we can - striving to improve our lot be re-affirming the values that made us. We crumble from within. All civilizations give way in time - I am not ready to let my Nation go gently into that good night. I want my Country back - for my children, and my children's children. This year, our election day holds promise or doom. It has never been more important that all men and women who are eligible stand up and be counted - and that they be fully informed before they do so. Our modern media slants it's reporting toward whomever is "signing the check". My Republican opponent has spent over 2 million dollars already toward a win in this district. My Democratic opponent, less so. I have a phone bill and a few gas receipts - but I am beholden to no corporate "persons", and to no party administration. If elected, I am free to vote the will and judgment granted me, and imparted upon me by my fellow constituents. For this reason, I need always be at your service. Tell me where YOU stand, when a divisive issue that eludes a simple answer is raised. I may be of above average intelligence, but I also am bright enough to know I don't know it all. I further know that it is what YOU tell me that I must listen to - not the "voice" of some corporate sponsor or party shill. Can you imagine what it must have been like for our present Representative, who is a good man, to get the call after his election inviting him to what would turn out to be his "cometo-Jesus" meeting with the Party bosses? I am sure he thought that all his fellows in Congress were as committed to service as he was. The disappointment must have been staggering. As I mentioned earlier, the enthusiasm of a kid off to his first day of school

was, I am sure, just a fleeting thing when our Congressman discovered who his masters really were. Please understand, he has succeeded in doing several things I find laudable, so I reiterate what I have said so often - He is a good man. I am not running "against" anyone - I am APPLYING for the JOB, and believe myself to be a stronger candidate, a better choice. If our suit is successful, there is no reason why he could not, or should not, return immediately to Congress to fill one of the new "vacancies". The hobbling of the two-party system that a victory on Article the First would promulgate would also give him the chance to work unimpeded...in fact, given that opportunity, it is my hope that he would choose to run as a "Democratic-Republican", instead. By all accounts, his conservative values on Federal, State, and International issues and policies, and his more "centrist" views on Civil Rights and social programs, such as Veterans' Benefits, would place him squarely in OUR camp, rather than as a Republican. Most people who grew up believing in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are actually "Democratic-Republicans" - they just don't know it, as the party was all but lost to history as a viable entity. I will do all in my power to change that. If you believe that the Constitution is the law of the land, and a tool of We, the People, to control the Government, not a whip held over our heads by that same Government - if you believe that any rights not specifically assigned to the Federal Government within the Constitution and its amendments therefore belong wholly to the People, and through them, to the States - if you believe that the greatest risk to our Nation's future is a culture of corporate greed and manipulations, especially in controlling the currency and our primary markets, YOU MAY BE A "DEMOCRATIC-REPUBLICAN". Common Sense must prevail. Every single elected official takes an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States...will they? Will you? REGISTER and VOTE. It's not a matter of life and death - it's more important than that. Frederick John LaVergne, "Democratic-Republican" for Congress New Jersey's Third Congressional District PLEASE SHARE THIS if you believe that this next election is crucial, and you believe that our last, best hope lies in returning to the values that made us. IF I live in your district, I hope I have earned the right to ask for your support.
