ABOUT STUDENTS INFORMATION BOOKLET

To meet the requirement of students and parents for getting authentic information, PTU brings to you Students Information Booklet. This booklet is divided in two sections; first section is about colleges which had been established in 2006 or before. The second section comprises of colleges which have started in 2007 and beyond. The index of the colleges has been prepared keeping in mind how well their students have done academically. This information has been taken from the Examination Department of Punjab Technical University. The Colleges have been indexed as per their academic performance and arranged accordingly. How to make best use: First factor that student needs to keep in mind is the course you are interested in and the preferred city. On this basis the student may shortlist a few colleges and courses of his interest. After doing this initial short-listing, you need to prepare a preference list of colleges as per your choice for the purpose of counselling. In view of the limited seats, you must include maximum number of colleges and subjects on your choice list. You can have unlimited choice in the online counselling. You can visit the admissions 2011-12 link on homepage of PTU website www.ptu.ac.in. The website has useful information about how to go about making this important decision which is likely to impact your life. Other details about Admission Process for all the PTU affiliated Colleges is also available on the same page. After Punjab has become a destination of choice for higher education, lot of new Engineering Colleges with excellent infrastructure have come up in the state. Some of these colleges have started after 2007 and the result of their 1st batch will be out in next few weeks. These colleges and colleges which have started thereafter have been listed separately based upon the academic record up to semester ending December 2010. The listing has been done for 2008, 2009 & 2010 colleges also. The academic and placement record for 2007 colleges will be made available through PTU website after their 1st batch is placed and the 2011 results are declared.

Infrastructure There are a total of 91 classrooms and 71 labs. The computer labs are equipped with 725 computers. The college boasts of a well equipped library with 3200 book titles and 78 national and international journals. Hostel facility is also available for both girls and boys. 560 seats are available for boys and 250 seats for girls.
Placement During 2010-11, about 82.8% of the students were placed from the campus with an average package of 3.29 lakhs the maximum being 4.32 lakhs per annum. The Institute not only celebrates freedom of thought, cultivates vision and encourages growth, but also inculcates human values and concern for the environment and the society.
Infrastructure The institute provides world class infrastructure. It has 55 classrooms and 73 labs. There are more than 670 computers for the students. The college library is well equipped with more than 8500 book titles and around 86 national and 65 international and more than 1000 international journals. Hostel facility is also available for boys (432 seats) and girls (188 seats) separately inside the campus.

The objective of the institute is to offer an inspiring learning environment, which transforms our bright young scholars into talented, creative & trained professionals.
Infrastructure There are a total of 14 classrooms and 16 well equipped labs in the college. The library has a collection of 9000 book titles, 4000 plus e-journals and 108 printed journals journals. Computer Labs are constant heaps of activity throughout the year. The institute has fully Wi-Fi with 6mbps leased line form Reliance Communication with 492 computers. The mission of the institute is to create sustained learning environment of acquiring technical knowledge and translating theoretical knowledge into practical applications.
Infrastructure There are a total of 47 classrooms and it also possesses well equipped workshops and 59 labs. The computer labs are equipped with 542 computers. The college also has a well stocked library with large number of books on full range of subjects. There are 7478 book titles and 63 journals available for the students. Placement During 2010-11, about 25% of the students were placed from the campus with an average package of 2.96 lakhs the maximum being 6 lakhs per annum. RIEIT Railmaja is the flagship Institute of the Rayat-Bahra Group. It is located on National Highway No 21 about 6 Kms from Ropar, on the picturesque land nested in lower Shivaliks. The Institute is known for high quality professional and technical education. Infrastructure There are a total of 28 classrooms and 56 well equipped labs supported by campus wide network and 24 hour internet connectivity. The fully air conditioned library is well stocked with 2987 book titles and 94 National and International journals. In addition more than 500 ejournals are available. There are 480 computers, 54 peripherals with legal software. The boys and girls hostels have well furnished and ventilated double occupancy 312 rooms for boys and 182 rooms for girls. Placement During 2010-11, about 62.82% of the students were placed from the campus with an average package of 2.74 lakhs the maximum being 4.8 lakh per annum. The Faculty The College has 116 highly qualified faculties with an average experience of 4 years, amongst which 3 are PhDs, 74 are post graduates and the rest are enrolled for M Tech. The HODs and middle level faculty has rich experience. Academic Results Almost 21% of the students passed the exams with a distinction last year and around 51% secured a first division.
