Why do you want to participate on a students on ice expedition
It has recently come to my attention that the State Government of Terengganu through the funding and support of the Sultan Mizan Antartic Research Foundation are offering two students, from the state of Terengganu a once in a lifetime opportunity to partake in the illustrious 2017 Students on Ice Expedition. With that on the agenda, I am writing this letter to inform your party on why I want to be a part of this glorious expedition. I would like to clarify beforehand that I am fully aware this expedition is intended for educational purpose and if I am selected for the program I will to the best of my abilities to fully commit to all aspects of the expedition.
In my honest opinion, this expedition will provide me with the
chance to explore new environments. To elaborate further, having the opportunity to roam the Arctic Archipelago and to observe the astonishing landscapes such as the marvelous mountain ranges and the majestic Tundra and Taiga biomes which would be extravagant .I also intend to meet the inuit people and learn more about their cultural background and practices.
Furthermore, based on my readings on previous expeditions,
presentations, workshops and group researches will be conducted to better understand the indigenous life forms and obtain better insight into climate change, how it is affecting the Arctic and the steps necessary to negate the effects of it. Malaysians understanding about this threat need to be heightened and I aspire to raise awareness to ensure the safety of the Arctic
