Child Protective Services Risk Assessment devices come in many different flavors. These would generally include actuarial, consensus based, and structured decision making aids. Each has its unique variants. Their reliability, predictive validity, and inter-rater reliability coefficients leave much to be desired. They lack sufficient sensitivity and specificity, hence they tend to produce many false positives. They are used at a variety of critical decision-making points.
