Description

Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Sam: Hello Dr. Cabral - cheers to you and thank you for your work! What a breath of fresh air, I wish everyone had access to your practice! My situation seems to be a perfect storm of some topics you've covered in past. I'll try to be brief. I typically test as tridoshic. I'm a 5'8 female with a small frame and thin joints, but not a straight/flat frame (natural hourglass figure). I'm calm and balanced - not particularly energetic, nor sluggish. I was effortlessly thin/curvy despite not exercising...until I met candies and junk food in my late teens. For the next 15 years I slowly packed on about 30 pounds. My friend wanted to go keto and needed a support group, and since I struggle so much with sugar addiction, I started keto with her. Within 1 month of keto, I lost my menstrual cycle. I've had amenorrhea for 10 months now, despite reintroducing squash/fruit/root carbohydrates. I'm gaining weight again and I'm having trouble controlling my fruit intake (sugar addiction, still in full force!). With a damaged metabolism (new thyroid condition!) and no period, I have no idea what to do anymore. Doctors want to put me on HRT. I know in my heart that SO MANY women have done this to themselves with keto, so I wanted to submit this for all the ladies out there. Thank you for your wisdom, Sam PS: Can someone please email me when this question gets answered on the podcast? I'm still catching up with the older ones so I fear I might miss it. Thank you! Erich: I was reviewing a video that you did with Thomas DeLauer and you talked about different metabolisms for different bodies and that each body has its own challenges and strengths. You mentioned about taking some kind of test to know this better. I have a friend who is CONVINCED that he has metabolic issues and i was wondering what this test might be and who he might be able to reach out to in the Dallas TX area to have this test. Any advice you could provide would be most appreciated. Erich  Alex:  Hello. Love all the information you share!! I'm a 52 year old male, 5' 10", 155 pounds, 14% b.f. and have been tested and have low T. I am able to fall asleep easily at night but always wake up to use the facilities during the night and then often have difficulty falling asleep again. I work out 4-5 days a week but lately my workouts have not been as intense. I have been working out consistently for a long time but with very slow progress and I would like to put on another 5-10 pounds of muscle and get down to 10% b.f.. I will be ordering your Detox but wonder if it is the first thing I should do or should I do more testing before or do something else? Thank you again for all you do!! Alex Lauren: Hi Dr. Cabral. My question for you is that I recently went and had my first physical in years. I took your advice from a podcast a few months back recommending blood tests. I have been suffering from food allergies and fatigue, depression/anxiety and in my early 20’s rapid weight gain that I still haven’t lost for years. My doctors gave me my results the other day and everything was good and on the lower side, however on my organic acids test a few of them came back lower than the normal range. She informed me that she couldn’t explain the results of the test because though I had requested it she didn’t know enough and offered to refer me to an Endocrinologist. I’m also going to see an allergist because she ran a basic blood work allergy panel and I came back negative, but in 2013 I was positive for a wide array of food and environmental allergies. So I guess what I’m asking is being that I am below normal range should I go to the Endocrinologist Or is it nothing to worry about? I really appericiate your time. Your podcasts are so informative and motivational.  Michael: Can the benefits of the pr
