NLP was developed in the mid 1970's based on the work of Fritz Perls (Gestalt therapy), Virginia Satir (Family therapy), Noam Chomsky (Linguist), and Milton Erickson (Hypno-therapist). The goals of NLP clinically and in business communication involve building rapport to increase one's ability to influence, persuade, and instruct another individual or group.
