Beschreibung

If a machine could dream of nature, what would it see? MACHINE HALLUCINATIONS: NATURE DREAMS, the latest exhibition by Turkish-born, LA-based artist Refik Anadol seeks to answer this question by processing large volumes of data from digital archives and publicly available photographs of nature into new interpretations of the earth we share. The outcome is a psychedelic and lucid experience, revealing artificial intelligence’s potential as a primary channel of artistic creativity. Active since 2008, Anadol’s works have explored the intersection of architecture, science, technology, and media arts. In this episode of the Telekom Electronic Beats podcast, Anadol explains how presenting his work in a space as architecturally significant as St. Agnes is the realization of his own dream come true. He also discusses the challenges and the possibilities that machine learning has imposed on humanity, and what it means to be human in the age of AI.
