MEDIEVAL ERA OF MUSIC


Mediaeval music is Western music written during the Middle Ages. This era begins with the fall of the Roman Empire and ends sometime in the early fifteenth century.

This period pause the way to ride of cities and Universities, and the development of culture and interests of people to classical and antiquity. Music forms of the sacred renaissance are sung by accompaniment.

THE BAROQUE ERA OF MUSIC


This era follows the Renaissance and was followed in turn by the Classical era. Baroque music forms a major portion of the classical music canon, being widely studied, performed, and listened to.

1. English Composer, German by birth 2. At the age of 9, he took up formal lessons in music 3. He died at the age of 74 on April 6, 1759 and buried at Westminster Abbey

His best composition He composed the Messiah in London within 24 days on 1741 He conducted his work in Dublin on April 14, 1742

THE CLASSICAL ERA OF MUSIC

The Classical period falls between the Baroque and the Romantic periods. The period is sometimes referred to as the era of Viennese Classic or Classicism

Characteristics of Classical Music


1. Classical music has a lighter, clearer texture than Baroque music and is less complex. 2.It is mainly homophonic 3.Melodies tended to be shorter than those of Baroque music 4.Variety of keys, melodies, rhythms and dynamics along with frequent changes of mood and timbre.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

1. Born on January 27, 1756 2. Austrian classical composer 3. Mozart's arrival in Vienna in 1780 brought an acceleration in the development of the Classical style. 4. Mozart died on December 5, 1791 at the age of 35

Ludwig van Beethoven


1. A German classicist and romanticist composer 2. Born on December 16, 1770 at Bonn Germany 3. He was 8 years old when he had his first public performance as a pianist. 4. He was recognized as the composer of the Millennium 5. he became completely deaf around 1819. 6. He died on March 26, 1827

ROMANTIC PERIOD OF MUSIC


Romantic music is a term describing a style of Western classical music that began in the late 18th or early 19th century. It was related to and in Germany dominated Romanticism, the artistic and literary movement that arose in the second half of the 18th century in Europe.

Characteristics of Romantic Music


1. An artistic, literary, and intellectual movement in music. 2. A freedom in form and design; a more intense personal expression of emotion in which fantasy, imagination and a quest for adventure 3.Emphasis on lyrical, songlike melodies 4. Greater technical virtuosity for instruments like piano, fluteand violin.
