His Role Model


Muhammed was influenced by his mothers love for

helping the poor, and her willingness to share whatever the family had with the less fortunate. This had a lasting effect on him

Muhammads Objective
His objective was to provide credit facilities to as many

low income and unemployed people as possible


in order to improve the quality of their lives and to give them the opportunity to live with dignity.

Starting Entrepreneurship
His first loan consisting $27 from his own pocket

in1974, was 42 woman of the villege, Jobra


Recovery was BDT 0.50(US$0.02) Loan from Janata Bank to lend it to the poor in Jobra in Dec 1976 Established as a Bank in 1st oct, 1983 and name was Grameen Bank (Village Bank)

Promotes Credits a human Right. It provides loans and financial services without any legally enforceable contact. It has preference for giving loans to women. Provides services at the door-step of the poor.
