ABOUT THE SYSTEM

The System is a Movie Database which keeps track of weekly releases. It delivers information about the top 10 earning movies of the week.

The information is in the form of tables which are regularly updated.

A Database Table

Originally inspired by IMDB(Internet Movie Database). Designed for moive-goers and aficionados.

FOCUS
The system covers details about movies, like: Actors Director Producer Banner Theatres Show-timing, etc.

SCOPE OF THE SYSTEM

Listing of Movies with weekly and gross earnings. Certification & Movie details.

Display of theatres showing with show timings.

SCOPE contd..
The movies can be rated by users. Booking of tickets is beyond the scope of the system, so far.

NEED FOR THE SYSTEM

The idea for the system was conceived keeping in mind the recreational need of users. It is a convenient way for a user to plan for a movie, get information about the certification, or just for amusement.

The system provides a lucid and userfriendly method of viewing information instead of browsing through newspapers.

User can easily compare ratings and assess the popularity of a movie. It offers viewers reviews and trivia besides the general information.

1.5 gb, (a portion of this disk space will be freed after installation if the original download package is removed from the hard drive).

Application Software required: MICROSOFT ACCESS Microsoft Access is a pseudo-relational database management system from microsoft that combines the relational microsoft jet-database engine within graphical user interface and software development tools. It is a member of microsoft office suite of application included in the professional and higher editions.

INVESTIGATION & PLANNING

To fulfill the task of designing a movie database, various upcoming movies and expected releases are considered and evaluated. Initially it contained only 4 tables; later tables were increased to accommodate more information regarding theatres and showtimings.

POSSIBLE EXPANSION
It can further be expanded to make booking of tickets possible.

It can also include list of upcoming movies.

Users personalised accounts can be alloted. Overall top movies can be listed through the aggregate of weekly votings.
