James Pappas Has Earned A Lot Of Respect And Appreciation For Philanthropic Services

Since 1998, James Pappas has been a Board member for the village of Brookville, Planning Board and Architectural Review. He has also been serving as Co-chairman of the CCFA Golf Outing since 2006. Through the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare Department of Cyprus, James Pappas has helped underprivileged children up to the age of eighteen as a committee member for Cyprus Children's Fund.

Besides that, he is a member for MS Society (a major Fund Raising event at Belmont), Special Olympics, Dinner and CJ Foundation for SISD (Golf Outing), Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Hospital and New Leadership Division. In addition to this, James Pappas is a member of NEPHCUR Foundation (kidney disease), and College Football Assistance Fund, LAS Vegas.

He is also a major donor to many schools and churches including World Trade Center Site, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox church, Parishioner to Greek Orthodox Church of Resurrection, Brookville, Southern Methodist University (Dallas,TX), Greek Orthodox Church (South Hampton), Dormition of the Virgin, St. Dominic Elementary School (Oyster Bay), St. Dominic Church (Oyster Bay, NY).

In 2008, James Pappas received the Man of the year Award at the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America's (CCFA's), Long Island Spring Gala. Crohn's is a chronic inflammatory disease caused by interactions between immunological, environmental and bacterial factors of the intestines and it affects the whole digestive system. It is a volunteerdriven organization committed to finding the cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

The organization was founded in 1967 by Henry D. Janowitz, M.D, Shelby Modell, William D, Suzanne Rosenthal and Irwin M. James Pappas and his wife linked themselves with CCFA in 1995 and have been serving many charitable organizations like CFAF and CJ foundation.

The CJ foundation was established in 1994. Since then, it has been a national non-profit committed to eliminate the tragedy of early childhood deaths and sudden unexpected infant deaths. The foundation has been supporting sorrowing families, furthering parent, advancing medical research, professional education and advocating for the survival and health of all children for years.

James Pappas is also an active member of CFAF(College Football Assistance Fund), founded in 2010 by a group of college coaches and athletic administrators. It is a non-profit tax exempt organization devoted to support football players who have suffered serious injuries through college football. The organization offers help to ease the load of medical costs regarding the injuries such as neurological care, spine treatment and joint replacement and other related expenses. James Pappas has earned a lot of respect and appreciation for huge participation in philanthropic services.
