    Posidonia oceanica, or Neptune grass, is the most common flowering plant in the Mediterranean Sea. It forms vast underwater meadows from depths of 1-30 meters that are important for oxygen production, as an organic matter producer, and as habitat and shelter for many sea species. The study monitored P. oceanica meadows at five locations in the Boka Kotorska bay in Montenegro through SCUBA diving observations, underwater photography, and density evaluations. Results indicated regression of sea grass meadows at some sites possibly due to pollution, inappropriate anchoring, or dynamite fishing in the bay.
