People travel from various districts around sriperumbudur, and amongst them 55% are female.
Nokia runs around 175 buses across the shifts and the buses
Since people come from various parts of the state, and moreover the factory runs 24X7, it become mandatory that they reach in time. In order to reduce cost, one of the idea is to relocate the people from far away places to a nearby location, i.e., in 45 km bracket. For this purpose a research should be carried out.
It also involves determining the necessities for relocation along with the possible areas for it as well.
To find out the number of people coming from places beyond 45 kilometers. To find the reasons behind employees staying in their current location. Also to find the associated factors such as the preferences for stay among male and female counterparts and determine whether they are
willing to relocate.
Finally to come up with possible suggestions for relocation according to both employee as well as employers perspective, without being biased on the survey that was conducted to employees.
the number of employees using the nokia buses and also how
the transport is being operated.

and
detailed
questionnaire which gives all details about relocation and reasons for stay was framed and circulated.
We conducted the survey as a unbiased estimator, and as the research methodology suggests, the average variance is better for us, compared to a consistent estimator. We were at ease to remove errors or biases like Selection bias, over coverage, under coverage, measurement error, processing error, while we could have random sampling error and non-response error in our sample. We did not take any inputs from survey respondents for the relocation idea, as the relocation has to be unbiased from the survey idea
After the survey, analysis of data was done with the help of
excel and SPSS, and various conclusions were drawn out of it.
FINDINGS :
After running through the transport master data it was found that 9685 people were using nokia buses for travelling to their homes. This data was taken into analysis and sorted based on
