In 1960s travel and tourism industry placed from eighth to 12th. in size.
In 1979; it was estimated that travel & tourism would be # 1 industry as of 2000. Tourism became #1 industry in 1986, before 14 years it was estimated The travel & Tourism industry became a mature industry. As of 2005, the number of international travelers exceed 800 million, achieving all time record.

Richard Branson form Spacecraft Building Company that will built the SpaceShipTwo First flights were planned in late 2008, early 2009. At present, seats onboard Virgin Galactic spaceships are price tagged at $200,000 each.
By the fifth year of operations those prices will drop to around $50,000 Nearly 7,000 people indicated their interest in making a reservation and paying a deposit. Space tourism have the potential to handle 15,000 passengers and generate $700 million in revenues per year by 2021.
