Stem cells have the remarkable potential to develop into many different cell types in the body.

After a division, each stem cell has the potential to either remain a stem cell or to become a totally different specialized cell, e.g. Red blood cells, muscle cells, etc.

Because the best source for stem cells is from the embryo.
Therefore, to extract stem cells, embryo destruction cannot be avoided.
