The National Residence Hall Honorary is the only nationwide organization that exclusively recognizes leaders in the residence halls
Considered the recognition branch of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH), Inc.

 1964: NRHH was founded out of a need from NACURH At first the focus was on the incorporation of old into new. Bringing original residential honor groups to NRHH 1977-1987:
Pins and certificates were produced to recognize members A formal recruitment process began Affiliation packets were produced The AD-NRHH position was created Awards were established
Program, NCC, Advisor, Student & RA Of The Month Awards Outstanding Chapter of the Year

Leadership Scholastic Service Recognition

Within an active chapter there are only four types of membership acknowledged by NACURH
Active: members currently live in the residence halls and are full time students Alumni: members have either moved off-campus or no longer attend the institution where they were inducted Early Alumni: members who are no longer able to fulfill the requirements of active membership and have filled out the appropriate paperwork and have been confirmed by the regional AD-NRHH Honorary: members may be an administrator or off-campus person who has done something outstanding for the residence halls
