A third has found dead with a message written in lipstick on her forearm, she was also strangled and raped. Two detectives are assigned to find the criminal by cracking the code before he takes more lives. The two detectives go through it all to uncover the killers identity.

John Coefield Battle hardened detective, well educated, tall, smart looking (Waist coat, fedora, dress trousers, smart shoes), quite passive, sticks to the rule book, a smoker and always carries a notebook. Paul Lint (Tubbs) Experienced detective but is flawed (drinks and smokes heavily), straight to the point, aggressive, goes against the rules, scruffy looking (aged suit, stained shirt and tie, creased trousers and braces) and lives at the bottom of a flask. Kenneth Harrison Working class man (steel worker), serious, well known round town, gambler, whisky drinker (casual), smoker, doesnt like police, well built and wears causally (flannel shirt, dirty jeans, work boots, braces). Rosa Sherburne Classy woman, flirty, junkie, beautiful, wears classy clothing (red dress, high heels, blonde hair, make-up) and is a singer.

Two production companies will be shown. Rainy day camera follows two main characters to crime scene. Forensic Scientist lifts up police tape and main characters walk under, slight glimpse of body. Fade out with caption when a message is left (can be altered) Main character looking at message on forearm. Fade out with caption and a man is suspected (can be altered) Man drinking alone, main characters approach from behind, stand by each side and one puts their hand on the mans shoulder.

Cut to same scene from behind. Cut to woman, close up of eyes, eye line match. Cut back to main characters with man. Fade out with caption you need to look at who else is watching 5. Quick changes the pace of the editing increases. Shows scenes such as action scenes, chases, kiss scene. 6. Slows down on one shot main character standing in rain tired. 7. Slow fade out.

Title of film. Cut to main character looking in mirror, washes face by splashing water in his face, looks back to mirror and sees reflection of woman behind him. Cut to release date.

These are just a few images we have taken from other movies that we would like some of the scenes to look like in the trailer of this movie.

We could use similar shots to these which came from the film The Third Man, these would be used in a chase scene when we flick through some action scenes.

We want to use a shot similar to this as it shows the characters reflection in the mirror, which seems to be a effective shot. Also this is a key feature in the Film Noir genre.

We would like a similar shot to this one. With the use of the rain and the black and white colouring I think it is effective in showing the mood of the film through the trailer.

This is what we want when the man is drinking alone, but we would like the two main characters to be standing by each side of him. We would like a similar expression on his face too.

With this shot we would like it to be in black and white and we would like a more mysterious look in the womans eyes. Also the woman will be in more make up.

We would like similar scenes to these, a slight view of the message on the body and the detective looking at it.

We would like some of the scenes at the end of the trailer to look similar like these images.

Finding the body, with message- Shows main characters, a mystery of what happened to the body, setting shows the mood through the rain, shadows and death. Man drinking alone-who is he? Why is he being shown? Does he have something to do with the death? Shows his mood as he is lonely/ depressed and angry (trying to find something at the bottom of his drink Woman's eye-Mystery, a unknown character that may play a key role in the story, how is she involved in the story and who is she? Main Character washing his face-shows a key convention of film noir, shows a link between the woman and the man but what is the link? Why is she there? Shows the feelings of the detective (stressed, could there be a problem)
