What are drugs?

A drug is any substance which, when its introduced into the body by any route of administration, may somehow alter the central nervous system of the individual who consumes them.
The time of arrival of the substance to the brain depends on several factors, including the Gateway or consumption, oral is slower but safer in terms of toxicology, nasally or inhalation is faster but with little difference efficiency compares with oral, intravenously is the most efficient and fast.

History
Before the first civilizations, there is evidence that man knew the effects of certain plants, such as opium, and used them. In all civilizations, from the Assyrian (Empire from 1813 to 609 b.C.) to the current century, mankind has consumed all drugs for different reasons, religiuous, ritual, medicinal, habits and custums, distraction, etc..

"In Health" magazine asked a panel of experts to rank commonly used drugs by their potential for addiction.
