Journey to Victory

Mark 16:1-8
The Resurrection 1 When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. 2 And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. 3 And they were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?" 4 And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled backit was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed.

Mark 16:1-8
6 And he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you." 8 And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

Journey to Victory

Down & Out

(Almost)

Sometimes, when we're down, we get paralyzed.

We're afraid to get hurt further... We're afraid to fail again... We're afraid to be humiliated again...

However, we just need to keep on moving. Keep on doing what God wants us to do.

Even if we don't see things necessarily getting better.

Important Note: We do know that the ultimate end is victory!

(Because God will surely be victorious)

Our victorious Lord gives us victory!

Surprise! Down & Out

At our lowest point, God will surprise us.

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. - Galatians 6:9-10

Rejoice because Jesus Christ is risen! He is no longer dead but alive!

If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. - 1 Cor. 15:14

Since Christ has been raised from the dead, our preaching is useful and so is our faith!

The resurrection of Christ validates what He said and who He is.

Our victorious Lord gives us victory!

...for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead. Then the disciples went back to their homes. - John 20:9-10

I have seen the Lord!

- Mary Magdalene (John 20:18)

This (seeing the Lord) changed Mary and the disciples!

BIG TIME!!!

Have you seen the Lord?

Have you experienced Him?

2 Aspects of Victory

1) Victory in this life 2) Victory in the afterlife

Romans 8:28-30
28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

Will you trust God for the victory He will give in the afterlife even if we don't experience victory in this life?
