DEFINITION
This is a standardized screening tool and also can be used as an out-come measure in cases. The MMDT is a frequently administered standardized test for evaluation of a subjects gross motor skills.

PRE-REQUISITE FUNCTION
Person should be able to listen, remember and execute

a given command correctly. Should be attentive, focused & cooperative till finish the task. Skin should be intact. For ideal task completion client should be able to stand and perform till the task is completed.

Placing Test Turning Test

1 test board ( 83cm L, 23cm W, 4mm H) 60 Red & Black disks(15.3gm,38mmDia,18mmL) Tablets of score sheet

TEST PROCEDURES
PLACING TEST : (For a RT. Handed person)

Starting Position :
Put board on table about 10 inches from edge. Insert disks into holes in board. Lift board up so that disks fall down & remain in straight rows & columns on table. Now place board in front of the disks. Board is now 1 inch from edge of table closest to subject.

PLACING TEST PROCEDURE


Test :
Begin on your RIGHT and pick up the bottom disk & insert it into top hole of board. Now pick up the next disk in the column on the right & so on. Subject will move from right to left on this test. Once the subject completes 1 column, the previous sequence is repeated in 2nd column until the entire board is filled up.

TURNING TEST (For a RT. handed person)

Starting Position : The board is put on table about 1 inch from edge closest to the subject. All the disks are inserted to the holes in the board with the black side facing up. Objective : To observe how fast one can pick up the disks with one hand, turn them with the other hand and replace the disks back into the holes on the board.

TURNING TEST PROCEDURE


Test :
With your left hand the block from the upper right hand corner is picked up. The disk is turned while passing it to your right hand and returned into its original hole in the board with the BOTTOM side facing up. Subject must work to his left across the board on the top row. After a row is completed, at the start of the 2nd row, using your right hand the 1st block of 2nd row is picked up. The disk is turned while passing it to your left hand & returned into its original hole with the BOTTOM side facing up. Subject must work to his right across the board until the entire row is completed. Working back to the left in 3rd row & towards right in 4th row the test procedure is thus completed.

SCORING
Scoring is the total no. of seconds required to complete

the chosen number of test trials.


NORM CHART : The relative value of test scores shows visually which are

better & poorer test scores for a subject NORMS for Older Adult Unemployed Types of interpretation scales :
