TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

APPLICATION OF AN EXISTING TECHNOLOGY FROM ONE SECTOR TO ANOTHER

Existing technology: Absorbent textiles

Absorbent fibers allow penetration of water molecules well inside their sites. These absorb the moisture from wearer and move it away from the garment, hence helps to make skin moisture free. Absorbent Textile Fabric comprises of:
a water absorbent fabric layer having high moisture absorbency a water permeable fabric layer having low moisture absorbency and a high moisture permeability

The layers are integrally connected by knitting or by use of bonding agent for giving double layered fabric structure. They are broadly used in manufacturing of bandages, sanitary products, odor absorbents etc. These fibers are composed absorbent organic fibers, which help to allow maximum fluid pick up & even suited for burning after use

Sweat Free Slippers

Existing technology: Vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner pumps air quickly so at one end it creates a "vacuum" and at the other end a draft. It produces a suction powerful enough to lift small objects like paper clips, or light objects like dust or hair.

Vacuum Doormat
Doormat with a dirt cleaner and dryer for feet
The vacuum cleaning system will be beneath the feet The doormat will be preferably made of rubber for easy cleaning of the filter The vacuum system will be of a lower intensity as compared to the one used for house cleaning otherwise it might be difficult for us to step off the mat.

Existing technology: Braille

The Braille system is a method that is widely used by people who are visually impaired to read and write, and was the first digital form of writing. Braille was devised in 1825 by Louis Braille, a blind Frenchman. Each Braille character, or cell, is made up of 6 dot positions, arranged in a rectangle containing two columns of three dots each

Descriptive Camera
Camera which takes a picture but instead of showing the picture it describes the picture in a written form which can be read by blind people
A paper slip describing the scene comes out after 3-5 minutes, depending upon the number of details in the picture

Existing technology: Sensors

A sensor or a detector is a converter that measures a physical quantity and converts it into a signal which can be read by an observer or by an electronic instrument It receives and responds to a signal. A sensor's sensitivity indicates how much the sensor's output changes when the measured quantity changes

Adjustable Shower
Showers with height detection proximity sensors for adjustment according to a persons height
It is difficult for sort people to reach out all the time, so to avoid that sensors can be helpful Every time the height differs instead of the person adjusting himself in order to take a shower properly, the shower can adjust itself automatically according to the height of the person standing under it

Existing technology: Voice activation

A voice command device is controlled by means of the human voice. By removing the need to use buttons, dials and switches, consumers can easily operate appliances with their hands full or while doing other tasks. The first examples is mobile phones with voice-activated dialing

Talking Microwave Oven

Voice activation technology in microwave ovens
With pre fed timings for certain food items and also repeatedly used items, the voice activation can remember the timings as well as perform the command when asked to This saves time in pressing the buttons and turns out to be faster while one can concentrate on other activities
