CNFC Media, a Delhi based Media House, rendering media services to the Power, Infrastructure & Construction sector through the association with various News Channels, Newspapers, Publications and Organisations. It produces Power News which brings exclusive coverage on the sectoral issues and updates viewers with the latest development of the power sector.

At a Glance

Creative News and Film Production, an erstwhile company was founded in the year 2004 by a team of young technocrats and journalists with an objective of highlighting the various important issues and developments of Power Sector on a nationwide platform. Understanding the importance of the sector for an overall growth of an economy and absence of an electronic platform for the sector, the company associated itself with various Business Channels of the country for news making and other programs such as organizing Conferences, Panel Discussions, Power Summit and Awards.

Year 2007- Conceptualised and launched a news based

program Power News on Zee Business which was inaugurated by Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde, the then Union Minister of Power in the presence of other dignitaries of the sector.

Power News
Power News is a news based weekly program produced by CNFC Media bringing all the viewers the latest news, information and analysis of developments related to policies, projects and investments in the power sector in India; covering events of the Power sector; updating them with facts and figures; capturing the views of the industry leaders & experts and highlighting the various important issues related with Indian Energy Sector. Power News is the only electronic platform for the Indian Power Sector. Its an effective means of presentation for electricity scenario in the country, recent govt. initiatives, reform measures, private participation, power scenario in states, State Power Crisis/ SEBs success story, Tariff and Distribution Privatization, Renovation & Modernization and Customer Grievance Address. It covers all segments of the sector generation, transmission and distribution and tracks key developments, analyses major trends, interviews top managers, features opinions of industry experts and covers technological developments.

CNFC Media conceptualised and organized the Power Awards 2009 with IEEMA and NDTV Profit. This comprehensive award scheme for power sector was organized under guidance of Central Electricity Authority & Ministry of Power. The scheme was prepared in which the awards were given to the best performing utilities in the power sector in different categories on the basis of a predefined specific criteria. With an objective of acknowledging the inestimable contributions by private and public sector utilities in the success of power sector and recognized excellence in capacity addition, transmission, distribution, renewable energy development executing large scale projects, commissioning of the projects, leadership, innovation, skill development and contribution to the society

Documentaries
In the years 2005 & 2006, the company produced several documentaries on various subjects related to Power Sector which were telecasted on DD National.

1) "Hydropower and India"


Documentary film entitled "Hydropower and India" focuses on the present power scenario in the country and emphasizes hydropower as the renewable source of energy. This effort will create the true benefits of hydropower and promote successful practice relating to the sustainable use of hydropower as the most important form of renewable source of power supply in India and address the technical, economical environment and social issues which prevent the optimum use of hydropower in India.

2) "Harsud-Ek Sawal"
Harsud, a tehsil headquarter town in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, is submerged due to Indirasagar dam which brought a million of people to resettle from their ancestral home in the region. Dam construction has both the facets of life- the positive and the negative. Our documentary is a sincere and humble effort to portrait the both sides of the coin, presenting to the nation, a solution towards an accelerated development, keeping human values as its top priority.

3) "NHDC-The Glory of Madhya Pradesh"


Narmada Hydro development Corporation Ltd. (NHDC) the joint venture of NHPC and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, has shown its excellence by commissioning five of its 125MW units of Indira Sagar Project (1000MW) in a record time and 8 to 11 months to the lead of schedule. Documentary film thus depicts NHDC family, with its dedication, hard work and expertise, setting the basis for progress and prosperity of not only the corporation but also Madhya Pradesh and its nearby regions.

4) "Indian Power Sector Reforms"


In the present context, power sector reforms require a greater importance. Reforms in power sector have been gradual and continuous. In 1991, we took the first major step towards liberalization and power sector reforms. Here, the Central govt. has played a proactive role. Rationalization of tariff has been a major issue of reforms. Govt. has also emphasized on reorganization of the activities of power generation, transmission and distribution in order to bring about greater accountability in functioning of the utilities.

5) "The Energy Man of India"
The documentary film "Energy Man of India", describes the dedication, devotion and effort made by the man, who is striving for national self-independency for electric power energy. This will set an example for our techno world, engineers and management professionals to motivate them to produce the best and will be the source of inspiration in the career building process.

6) "Save Energy
As per today, almost all states in India face energy and peaking shortage due to varieties of issues posing immense challenge in this sector. There is a significant potential of energy savings through energy efficiency and demand side management measures. A national campaign for bringing about awareness about energy conservation would be essential to achieve efficient consumption of electricity. The film covers all the aspects of Energy Conservation and Efficiency and is a sincere effort to bring about awareness among the people regarding energy conservation.

7) "Ek Sankalp
The programme "Ek Sankalp" on energy conservation was an info-educative programme highlighting the importance of electricity in our life. As energy is perhaps the must important challenge facing the country in the coming decades, this documentary film would be an attempt to curtail energy efficiency and energy conservation. This programme was an effective mode of presentation for common people at large, the objective of energy efficiency program to lower customer bill and help hold down electricity price spikes during periods of high demand system and also to improve the reliability of the electric system by reducing customer demand at peak hour, thereby easing the stress on overloaded generation, transmission and distribution systems.

8) "Revival of Dabhol
After years of struggle to find a solution to Dabhol, the Govt. did finally manage to succeed which would spell relief and hope for power-starved consumers of Maharashtra. The revival of Dabhol power project is one of the most important achievements of the UPA Govt. which will boost up the private investment in Indian Power Sector. This documentary film demonstrates an exclusive story of how Enron's Dabhol power plant in India is being revived.

9) "Ek Prayas
Our programme "Ek Prayas" was a sincere effort to visualize the energy efficiency and energy conservation measures taken by the various industries to reduce the energy intensity in the industrial sector in all its activities, products and services. This programme helped in motivating the other energy consumers in joining and promotion of a nation wide energy conservation movement, giving recognition to the industries that have done commendable work on attaining better standard of energy efficiency and its conservation in their respective fields. This further created an environment that spured industries in achieving excellence in efficient use of energy conservation.
