The NME contents masthead is similar to the front cover masthead, this is so the magazine looks professional and well presented, but also it reminds the readers that the magazine is NME.

The banner at the top of the page is to show the readers what page they are on and what the page is based on.

This shows the colour scheme of the magazine and separates the pages The date is used for the readers but also for the magazine producers. So they know when theyve released and when they can next release.

Down the column on the left hand side of the page the bands are in red and the page numbers are in black. This keeps in mind the magazines colour co-ordination again making it look professional.

The main picture looks like its been edited and pinned to the wall of some sort. The frame looks like a speaker. Which also interests the minds of the target audience. A canted angle which interests the reader because its unusual. Also the sub heading underneath relates to the image of the tour bus. The main picture looks like a photograph of the lady going on tour with a band. The drop cap is used to make it easier for the readers but also hinting that the paragraph starts from the particular point in the magazine.

Down the column on the right hand side the sub-headings are for spreading out the magazine. But also making it easier for the readers to find out what they want. Its in bold to make it easier for readers to see so they can skip to the pages they want.

This promotes and attracts readers attention. Promoting freebies and the website.

The introduction from the editor gives an insight to the readers to what the magazine is going to be about.

MASTHEAD AND WORD CONTENTS BOLD AT TOP WITH DATE/ISSUE NUMBER The masthead contains of the colour scheme of the magazine but gives the information of the page and in this case the contents gives information of the whole magazine. Also gives the date which informs readers when the magazine comes out and when it can be released next.

The column on the right hand side is to make the magazine more simple for the readers. This is also affective as it attracts readers to be more simple and skip pages to a certain page they want.

This paragraph is anchored to the image, and makes the magazine more interesting and more simple as the information is standing out. The editor uses the drop cap to let the readers know where the information starts again making it simple for the readers.

The editor of the magazine carefully puts the contents page on the left hand side of the magazine making it simple for the readers but a lot following the rule of thirds with keeping the text on the left hand side.

The editor pushes this to the side of the magazine once again making it simple for the readers. This is also promoting and advertising the muse magazine and the next NME magazine. Keeping the readers up to date.

The Q contents masthead is similar to the front cover masthead, this is so the magazine looks professional and well presented, but also it reminds the readers that the magazine is Q. The date is used for the readers but also for the magazine producers. So they know when theyve released and when they can next release.

Down the column on the left hand side of the page the bands are in red and the page numbers are in black. This keeps in mind the magazines colour co-ordination again making it look professional. Also following the rule of thirds with the text being on the left hand side of the magazine.

The dominated picture is of the band that is the music icon to the magazine. They are used to attract a certain audience in this case, the rock audience.

This part of the contents page links back to the main pictured, it is anchored to the image. Also making it easier for the readers.
The editor of the magazine purposely placed the review of the magazine on the contents page. This is to make their audience know that they are very popular. The bold sub heading attract the readers making it simple for them to see what they are specifically looking for.

The masthead of the contents page is standing out similar to the title of the magazine, reminding the readers which magazine their reading. It also shows the date again showing when the magazine was released. The picture stands out to the audience reminding them who the magazine is targeted for but also because they are very popular in the music industry this is a positive as it brings more attention to other readers.
