Global Read Aloud

We are an intrinsically-motivated classroom. We dont obsess over grades. A more deeper, curiosity about learning is our goal. Grades will take care of themselves.

Students will always have the opportunity to have a do-over

No sugary food items are allowed for birthday treats.


Instead, a donation to the building or from the class wish list? Souvenirs or other items can also be acceptable.

Of the countless ways we can show love to one another, five key categories, or five love languages, proved to be universal and comprehensive. Everyone has a love language, and we all identify primarily with one of the five love languages: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch.

Finland refuses to teach children to read until age seven and it boasts the worlds highest reading performance. The single most important activity for building the knowledge required for eventual success in reading is reading aloud to children.

The purpose of literature, especially fiction, is to provide meaning in our lives-which is really the purpose of all education. Students in Room 316 are aimed to become lifelong readers!
