Spoiler Demonstrator

Project Management

Gurban Ciprian - Daniel An I Master AES

1. Brief description
Develop a stand-alone test bench for the Porsche Panamera spoiler. The configuration of the spoiler can be changed dinamically and tested on spot. The project will give the oportunity to test and also demonstrate the main functions of the spoiler. It will run as an independent unit saving time and effort in the testing process. The whole body will be light and compact, thus making transportation an easy job. The project will be of medium size from the development point of view therefore requiring careful management and cost control.

3. Constraints
The biggest constraint by far was the time since the project had to be finished by the first of April. The second constraint was as it is with all projects, the money since we had a limited amount (60.000$). The third constraint was the availability of people and resources, because not everything that we needed was available immediately.

5. Conclusions
Although the constraints on the project were quite harsh we managed to fulfill all of them.

The budget allocated for this project was around 60.000$ which we managed to keep.
The project was finished on time and this was mainly due to the parallel development. Because some activities/people hit a blocking point at certain times, we were able to focus on a different parallel activity and keep the project going.

5. Conclusions
Risks:
Over/Under estimation Unclear requirements Desynchronizing between parallel tasks

Advanteges of iterative/parallel development

Faster development due to the parallel activities Every iteration delivers a stable, better product Allows for flexibility in requirements

OpenProj:
Allows a clear planning of the project Allows multiple views upon the project Freeware
