Whole Vehicle Type Approval - 2007/46/EC

Starting from September 2009 is mandatory to homologate vehicles in accordance with directive 2007/46/EC, the Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA). The automotive manufacturers has to produce European Certificate of Conformity (CoC). Certificate of Conformity(CoC) will be mandatory for complete and incomplete vehicles: Complete: vehicle that must not be completed to be in line with technical prescriptions Incomplete: vehicle that, to be in line with technical prescriptions, must be completed in at least a subsequent step (e.g. body building adjustments that change kerb weight, rear overhang or wheelbase) Certificate of Conformity summarizes all the main characterises of the vehicle Manufacturer, commercial name and category; Axle and wheel quantity; vehicle size; Vehicle mass, GVW, GCW; max allowed load on axles, Engine specs (manufacturer, power, displacement, architecture, fuel type); Gearbox type, gear ratio and rear axle ratio; Quantity and door layout; Quantity and seat layout; etc....... Daily MY2009 is not homologated as WVTA. As starting from 31st of October 2011, N1/M1 vehicle registrations are only possible following the WVTA homologation, Daily MY2011 is fully homologated as WVTA. National certificate issues are therefore not necessary anymore in EC.
