HISTORY
Founded in 1968 by Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata was a French-born Indian aviator and businessman who became India's first licensed pilot. Its early contracts included providing punched card services to sister company TISCO (now Tata Steel), working on an Inter-Branch Reconciliation System (IBRS) for the Central Bank of India, and providing bureau services to Unit Trust of India.

HISTORY
In 1981, TCS established India's first dedicated software research and development centerTRDDC in Pune. In 1985 TCS established India's first clientdedicated offshore development center. On August 25, 2004 TCS became a publicly listed company. In 2005 TCS became the first India-based IT services company to enter the bioinformatics market

In 2011/12 TCS achieved annual revenues of over U$10 billion for the first time.

Profit :- US$2.2 billion (2011) Employees:-2,43,545 (june 2012) Parent -Tata Group Worlds fourth largest employee base amongst IT services providers. As of 31 March 2012, TCS had 183 offices across 43 countries and 117 delivery centers across 21 countries. At the same date TCS had a total of 58 subsidiary companies.
