Elements of a Process
Title: It should be simple and comprise. Purpose: It should always begin with Is to.. Scope : It defines where the process starts and ends and what is specifically included and explicitly excluded. Inputs : The inputs of a process are the things that are transformed by the process in to the end product or service required by the customer of the process. Outputs : It can be products or services and should conform to the specification agreed in advance with the recipient. Control : It may be imposed either externally or internally. Resources : Process resources are all the things that a process must routinely have to be able to convert the inputs into outputs.

Key Role of Process Management


The Process Sponsor: is the person who provides direction and ensures that there is sufficient resource available to improve a process. The Process Owner: sits outside the process and directly and personally accountable for the end to end process. The Process Manager : works inside the process and responsible for every activity. He or she ensures day to day production performance. The Process worker: manage small teams of less experienced workers and provide the process manager with reports and improvement ideas.

Factors Affecting Process Management


Competitive benchmarking and analysis: Process management depends upon when we compare and analyze the best competitive products with our products. Customers voice: process management translate customers voice into product definition and specifications. Quality assurance system: It is incomplete without covering quality checkpoints for managing the process during manufacturing. Design standards: Other factors which affect process management are electronic, designs of experiments , quality charts etc. Sales planning: This includes training, market segmentation etc. Selling : The management of sales channel includes customer contacts, inquiry and leads, forecasting and product support plans.
