What is RAW?
Rape Awareness Week is a campaign that targets all violence within the spectrum of hate crime against an individuals personhood. We will be discussing all issues from catcalling and sexual harassment to sexual assault and legal rape. The reason why all the different types of oppression are put under rape is because all of them are violent and need to be addressed as such. We will be covering as many identities as possible during the short period via workshops, pamphlets and videos. There will also be rants everyday that talk about these problems through a more radical perspective. Throughout the week we will be selling sky lanterns that will be lit up during the last night of the event over the lake with messages of hope and solidarity. The proceeds from the sky lanterns will go to SACKingston.
