THE GENERAL PURPOSE


The general purpose of this module is: To give participant knowledge and skill Required to conduct first aid of:
The

critical illness Trauma


Stabilizing and evacuate casualty to health

facility/hospital

To give first description and experience of situation in clinic (visit Emergency Unit and Intensive Care Unit)

The condition that you will be working as a medical doctor in the next 6 years. So we hope, you have also get strong motivation and empathy to become a doctor in the future.

This module last for: = 80 hours and held for 2 weeks = 2 credits

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completing First Aid on Critical and Emergency Condition Module, the student must be able: 1. To do effective communication as a laymen trained when there is an emergency condition, to ask help, calming the victim, giving instruction according standard procedure to other team member. 2. To comprehend and conduct primary survey and secondary survey by history taking or simplified physical examination and able to determine problem of existing emergency condition.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
3. To determine critical and emergency condition that requires help and immediate action with consciousness assessment management of airway, breathing, circulation, conducting CPR, and stop bleeding. 4. To do periodical monitoring of patient condition and assess problem that happened, conducting effort of stabilization of the casualty.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
5. To do recording and reporting to ambulance worker or paramedic that arrive at the location, all that has been done in stabilization effort. 6. Understanding basic of moral and ethics and conducting first aid in aspect of legality and also professional responsibility of a first benefactor.

TEACHING METHODS
General lectures Skill station Student will practice how to conduct first aid in trauma, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, delivery and pregnancy emergency. 3. Video watching Student will watch video of some subjects and discuss the topic with instructor. 4. Problem Based Learning Student will have a case illustration and learn to describe the problem by them self 5. Visiting Emergency Unit and High Care Unit/Intensive Care Unit Student will visit ER and ICU/HCU, and learn to observe a patient and make a presentation. 5.
