History of World cup

The Cricket World Cup was first held in 1975 in England in

which 8 teams took part Australia, England, West Indies, Pakistan, India, and New-zealand , Srilanka & East africa. The next two World Cups held in 1979 and 1983 were again hosted by England. India had won the 1983 world cup . The 1987 Cricket World Cup was held in India and Pakistan , 1991 Cricket World Cup was held by Australia and New Zealand South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya hosted the 2003 Cricket World Cup, In 2007, the tournament was hosted by the West Indies. The world cup 2011 was held in India, Bangladesh & Srilanka.

In world cup 2011, 49 matches played by 14 teams.
Every team played 6 matches in their league round. In quarter finals, 8 teams reached .

In semifinals- India, New-zealand , Srilanka, Pakistan

teams reached. India beat Pak in semifinal & Sri-lanka beat Newzealand. In the final , India won the world cup by beating Lanka

India v/s Bangladesh

This is the first match played b/w both teams in

Dhaka. India had scored 370 runs . India had won this match by 87 runs. Virender Sehwag scored 175 & he was the man of the match.

Pakistan V/s Kenya

Pakistan had played his first match with Kenya.
Pakistan had scored a huge score of 300+ Pakistan had won this match by 205 runs.

Afridi was man of the match in this match.

In quarterfinal, India played with Australia which is

four times world champion. Australia scored 260 runs . India won this match by 5 wickets. The hero of this match was Yuvraj Singh.

India V/s Pakistan

In semifinal, India faced Pak in Mohali at PCA stadium

There were pressure on both teams.

Both teams played a superb match & at the beginning

both nations PMs met with players & encouraged them. India scored 260 runs & Sachin made 86 runs. But Pak could not make 261 runs & they were all-out. India won this match 38 runs & qualified for final. Sachin was the hero of the match.

Other Intresting Matches

The match played b/w India & England was tie. Both

team scored 360 runs. The match b/w England & Ireland won by Ireland by 2 wickets. Kevin O Brien made fastest century in 50 balls. The other match played b/w India & SA won by SA by 2 wickets in the last over. It was a fantabulous match.

India V/s Srilanka

It was the final match played in Mumbai .
This was the third time when India had reached in World

cup Final. Srilanka batted really well & made 274 runs. At the beginning of India batting , everyone was shocked when Sehwag was out on 2nd ball of Malinga. But the innings of Gambir , Kohli & Dhoni helped team to took this world cup in India. The hero of this match was Dhoni who made superb 91 runs.

Emotional time
Man of the series Yuvi cried after winning the cup.
He said that India has completed the dream of Sachin

as well as whole country after 28 years. Sachin , Virat, Bhajji was also emotional after this .but they said this was our dream.
